About

Welcome to my blog, Inn of the Wayward Misfits.

My doll collecting hobby began in December of 2009 officially. This was when I ordered my very first resin ball joint doll (BJD). I had been looking at bjds since 2006 and had admired them from afar, however, back then, I had a fairly low paying job and couldn't really afford any sort of 'extras'.

I will always remember my very first doll as it was the doll that started me on this journey.  It was a Doll Family Lyre (now a discontinued sculpt). I was floored by the size and weight of that doll and pleasantly surprised by the happiness it brought me. It also led me to pick up my camera again and get back into photography, a hobby I had let fall by the wayside for a number of years.

That was how it all began.

Originally when I thought of the idea of starting this blog back in 2012, my focus was on my growing collection of ball joint dolls. It's very surprising how fast they accumulate! I'm also surprised at how long I've had this blog for!

My ball joint doll collection was my first real doll collection. From there, over the years, I discovered different doll lines and types, different from my bjd collection but still intriguing enough for me to acquire a few of those.

My ball joint dolls will always be my main collection focus but just as I have evolved, so has my blog showcasing my entire doll journey.

I invite you to join me on this wondrous journey of discovery.
