The Yo Bug

I decided on the Be With You Paprika as soon as the pre-orders open again. And then I got to thinking that she would be the only Yo sized doll here and of course, she would need a companion right? So I decided to go ahead and make up my wishlist for my second Yo sized doll. I thought about the Sadol Sena but I am not sure if I like the single torso body and they don't offer tan skin. However, Luts does offer three types of tan skin and from what I have seen and read about the new multibody for their Yo size, I'm quite impressed.

Here's what I came up with:

I remember saying, most likely a year ago on this very blog that I wasn't a 'Tiny' collector but here I am with two Tinies already under my belt, a third to be ordered and a fourth floating on a wish list. I guess in this hobby, you can't really say the word 'never'. That will essentially take me one doll over the limit I set myself but, heck, go big or go home huh? Besides, I am debating about putting some of my MSDs up for sale at some stage, most likely the Minifees of which there are three. The rest I am happy enough with to keep hanging around.

I'd really like one of the Luts MSDs to go with my Ghost Maska but I'd have to come up with some funds for that to happen. (Hmm, methinks I might be falling for the Luts dolls after all these years...) I have to admit, ever since I got my first Luts doll, KDF Ghost Maska, I've been super impressed with the ease of posing those dolls, how photogenic they are and how incredibly solid their bodies are. Colour me a fan. Heck, after dealing with really bad bodies, great aesthetics but horrible bodies/posing over the years (*cough* Iplehouse *cough*), any solid feeling doll that can pose well enough for my needs gets a big fat tick. The only exception is my Dollshe Saint. I have him on the Rhythmos body which is quite literally horrible at posing without infinite fiddling around BUT he is my one true grail doll so he gets to stay, horrid posing and all. He mostly sits in the cabinet anyway scowling at the other dolls, although I do have to lean him up against something for him to sit.

This hobby really fascinates me. The range of dolls, the range of engineering, it is a truly amazing hobby for fans and collectors alike. I can't wait to see what the future brings.

  1. I just got Anko for my best friend for her birthday! She's super-cute in person! I did get the mutibody with her. I haven't played with it though so I can't review. I love Luts dolls - what you said is true - they're very solid posers and so nice to deal with after messing with disasters like Iplehouse. I even love my New Delf! All the CP Delf bodies I've owned were a hot mess, Luts finally gets the body for real and suddenly it does things like stand without kicking itself into a frenzy. I'm currently in love with one of their LE heads I'll probably never get my hands on *sigh*

Lol Tinies will get you in the end. They always do!
Good luck with sales if you decide to go that way.

    1. I actually have never looked at any of the Honey Delfs other than Lolly and Choco before so it was rather exciting to discover Anko. She has such interesting shaped lips for a Yo sized doll.

I so agree with you on Iplehouse. Their aesthetics though are so lovely. I believe the smaller dolls are much better at posing than the bigger ones though.

I have never really looked at Luts until I saw the Elf Maska doll (sold out by then) and I really liked him a lot. So when they released the Ghost version, I didn't even hesitate. And I am so glad I got him even if he's on the old version one body, he is still so easy to pose and handle which I love.

Tinies just have this charm about them that is so hard to resist. It's those eyes I tell you, puppy dog eyes. It is interesting how our preferences tend to change the longer we're in this hobby!

    2. I've had a Bory forever it seems like - he was the Warrior in the Dark one with the wings (half mechanical). I really wanted those wings and his fullset, and didn't care what the doll looked like, but then I got him and he was just so cute!! I put the fullset on him once, and it's been packed away ever since XD The only thing I use is the eyes. Since him I've a had a few Luts dolls here and there, but Claus was the only ohter one I really went crazy over. And that was an accident. Now I want that elf eared Jamong head so bad!!! I need a little Wyn.

I've gotten to the point where I can't even look at Iple head molds anymore. I'm so turned off by their bodies I've been tainted against the whole company. Plus that hat I bought was so expensive and the quality was crap. Not happy.

They do!! Well, most of them do. Two of YO sized look almost evil XD but that's ok, I figure they're allowed...bunnies can be evil.

I honestly don't think my preferences have change so much as broadened. Semi-realistic is still my favorite aesthetic, I still like my SDs to be around 60cm (any taller is getting too tall), I'm a much bigger fan of boys than girls....I think the thing that's really different is my love of older molds I really didn't care for when I started (Chiwoo, Chris, pretty much any Volks or CP doll XDD). Though I guess I'm slowly learning what just doesn't work for me...bigger dolls and anthros. There comes a time when you (me lol) just needs to give up on certain things and move on....

  2. Once one Tiny gets into the house, it's all over! LOL The four you have pictured are all adorable! I particularly like Lolly. :)

    1. Oh that is so true. I think it's also their size, so easy to transport practically anywhere and they always seem to come out quite nice in photos which is a bonus. I never take my big dolls anywhere because it's too awkward to haul them around and they have a greater height if they faceplant so more chance of damage.

I'm loving all of the four but as per usual, I can only get one of them. Oh dear, decisions and procrastinations abound!
