Blueprint

...The Chibi Maker is just too much fun! The upside to being able to use something like this (made by some very talented people) is that I can actually see a quasi-blueprint of all the characters and how they fit, their style and projected appearance, kind of like the signposts writers use when developing their chapters and plots.

This is the current bjd crew minus the two floating heads (which will probably remain floating for eternity as I have no plans to get them bodies). I have counted 'Rune' as part of the crew even though I don't have her yet and am still deciding which Luts Honey Delf sculpt will embody her character. I have also counted the Minifees as I tweaked their story a bit last night to give them another go. I hate selling dolls so if I can make it work, I would rather go that route. (Plus looking at them laid out like this, I am finding that I am happy.)

I also made Rune's skin darker because I plan to get a real skin brown resin doll (just because I love that Luts colour from what I've seen in photos).

My big dolls are everyone on the top row, ranging from 58cm - 70cm in size.

The next size up are the midsize dolls, that's everyone on the second row and the first two on the third row, ranging from 40-45cm in size.

The last are the tiny size dolls, that's all the ones that remain in the third row ranging from 16cm - 27cm.

Although I do enjoy interacting more with the tiny dolls because of the ease of their portability and handling, I do enjoy the other sizes for other reasons. They all have pros and cons and I must admit, I am quite content to have different sizes in my crew when all is said and done. I don't think I would have had it any differently even if I had a magical reset button.

So the one primary (mostly achievable) goal for 2015, learn to be content with the crew, work with them more and quit flip flapping everywhere. The acquiring side is done (almost) so now it's time for me to concentrate on actually doing more with them and stop procrastinating so much.

Procrastination is a creative mind's stagnant water.

    1. My gosh, yes! I keep going back and playing on it a bit more. It's terrible. The other night, I was on it for two hours just playing around with the different options. Although doesn't surprise me. Back when I was a lot younger, I used to love those paper dress up dolls. Remember those? Ah, those were the days.

  2. Oh WOW! How cute they all look Alasse . . . it really is a great story board. :) I can see how this would help visualise the direction you are going with your dolls, I will try it myself when I have time, thanks for posting the link.

    1. No worries. Be warned, it's super addictive though! I love using it. My only quip is that I wish there were more clothing options but that's only because there are so many t-shirts I can pick out for my guys!
