In my last post, I mentioned that I was working on the sweater for Rune. I am hoping it fits as I am not really sure how much slimmer/bigger she is compared to a Littlefee but at least I completed a sweater with a collar and everything.
Not perfect but it's finished at least. I would have to say the first sweater shirt that I have ever finished.
I had forgotten how relaxing handsewing was. And it's perfect for doll clothing. The fabric was in one of those scrap bins and is slightly stretchy. I love this kind of fabric. The colour, not my first choice but that's probably why it was in the scrap bin!
I can't believe it's handsewn, stitches looks so neat and tiny!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm not in love with the colour but it's a good fabric and I am pleased it turned out well. These things rarely turn out for me.
DeleteYay!! I can't even believe that's hand sewing. My "hand sewing" is much more.....awful than that. I'm amazed!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, my hand sewing turns out great, other times, not so much. I prefer hand sewing to battling with my machine though. That is not enjoyable at all. At least with hand sewing, I can also watch tv as I am doing it.
DeleteWoohooo! You have really done it now, you won't be able to stop sewing. :) I'm pleased you are enjoying the hand sewing, like you I find it relaxing. Although most of my garments are machine sewn, I like to finish linings and hems by hand on my better end garments. Keep up the good work Alasse and you'll make a top quality seamstress yet. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I am already getting ready to start a minifee winter jacket. I have forgotten how relaxing it is. It's like when I crochet. I find that relaxing too.
DeleteAnd thank you for the kind words and encouragement!
It looks very nice and clean - I'd have to say that looks like a great first attempt! I need to find a place that has a scrap bin like that so I can get some cheap fabric to try sewing! :)
ReplyDeleteMost of the fabric stores we have here have a small bin where they put their fabric scraps for fairly cheap. Most of the stuff isn't too good for doll clothing but every now and then, you find fabric that would work so it's always a bonus.
