My Nine9Style order arrived today. The sweater and pants I ordered for my SD girl, Deirdre fit great and the sweaters I got for Rune fit perfectly, however, the pants I got for her seems to have been made for a Yo size doll with really skinny legs! I had a bit of a hard time getting it on, I managed but it was so tight, she couldn't sit and then I almost could not get it off again!
So I decided to make her up some quick handsewn pants from some stretchy material I had bought for another project I never ended up doing. They fit great which I am happy about.
I was playing around with her in this outfit and was surprised she could hold this pose with only one foot flat on the surface and the other with the heel lifted. This is impressive as not a lot of my other dolls can do this (except the Limwha boy who can do some impressive poses without face planting).
I also made her a quick headband to hold that unruly hair together.
Some extra photos of her...
She seems to be a girl with some attitude x3 Love her new hoodie and the pants you made also look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You hit the nail on the head with that one, definitely attitude with this one.
DeleteShe's so cute, I can't get over those hands!! Great job on the pants. She doesn't look that chunky to me, I can't believe the 9style ones didn't fit.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I company can make a single-jointed doll that poses as well as double-jointed ones do. My little monica Audrey is an amazing poser and is single-jointed. You'd never know to play with him. He's strung really weird right now...I should fix him up....
Thank you. Yeah I was really surprised about those Nine9Style pants. Everything I've ordered from them previously have always fit the doll I bought them for. Plus the material is actually quite stiff. It looks stretchy on the website but it isn't, it's more like light jean material and very skinny, so maybe skinny jeans? Maybe that's why it's harder to get on? Still trying to chase up one of those Nordic pattern leggings.
DeleteI've always found the simplicity of single joint dolls quite lovely and tend to find they hold their poses much better than some of the double jointed dolls. I don't know if some double joints are trying to be more ambitious than they are capable of? I've had more trouble with double joints definitely than single joints during my time in the hobby.
Hey Alasse the pants look great mate! I think this gal will be a keeper, she's so cute and like safir said "she seems to be a girl with some attitude".
ReplyDeleteHugs,
X
Thank you! I'm really pleased you think the pants look good, coming from you who is a great seamstress.
DeleteDefinitely a keeper this one. She has barely left my side since she got here!
She looks perfct in that outfit *u* And the headband adds a really nice touch!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The headband was a last minute addition but I really need to make more I think. I can never find the right headbands for my dolls.
DeleteShe's cute as can be! <3
ReplyDeleteI certainly think so!
DeleteOh my, oh my, she is still so adorable! I love her hair, but I'm also known for my mohair-love, haha. :D How do you make hairbands, I suspect I need to make one (or several) for my incoming girl? :)
ReplyDeleteI keep debating about trying to get another mohair in a slightly blonder colour or maybe a red blonde to see how it would look on her.
DeleteI just made mine out of elastic. I stuck a button I had on the top. It's easy, fast and affordable! I have a few more ideas for headbands but I need to trial them first in case they don't work!
