New Threads and More Dio talk

My Hobbysearch order arrived today with new clothes for all the girls. I've suddenly gone from having very little clothing for the Neemos to so much (with my Wimukt order still to come) that I had upgrade to a larger box to store them all in.

Unfortunately not all the photos turned out, stupid cloudy day...

I love this outfit on her. Matches her lovely brown hair and eyes so well. And the little cardigan is just so cute and well made.

Just because I adore photographing this girl so much. I think she is my favourite of all my Neemos.

Aimi even got a new outfit too. She reminds me of a girl scout. And she seriously always has this look of shock on her face.

For the curious, I did manage to glue my wall to my floor however ran into a few kinks. I have decided I will add the side walls but I need more foam board first. One big thing I learned, next time I will use plywood. This foam board seems to warp a little and doesn't sit flush to the ground. And forget having the fan on because it just wobbles like crazy because of how light it is. Great idea using it but I think I will stick to using foam board in the future for cut out windows/doors etc.

The obvious seamline on the wall I am going to cover with a pipe running straight down. I've been looking at inspiration for industrial living and have a few ideas on furniture (which I might be able to cobble together myself). There's also going to be a "factory-esque" window on one of the walls with a view from outside the apartment behind it. I am planning an artwork piece on one of the side walls and maybe I can see about putting together some to scale plants. Looks like I'll be visiting the craft stores over the next few weeks.

I want the furniture to have that up-cycle feel to them, a kind of mish mash of things found and re-purposed because in the world of the Neemos, they're not exactly rich!

Now I just have to figure out how the heck to take group photos without one or two of them going fuzzy.

  1. Love their new outfits! ♥ Mia looks adorable in that morigirl-ish outfit and Aimi's is super pretty as well~

That diorama project sounds so interesting, I don't think I've seen anything like it before *o* Looking forward to what it'll look like with the pipe and all furniture etc.

Tips for group photos: you could try to get their faces on the same distance, so that when you look at them through your camera's lens, none of them is too ahead or behind :) Then you could also try changing the aperture (F-number) - the bigger the number, the bigger area is focused. And one trick you could try is taking a picture from farther away and then cropping the extra space away later, which makes it looks like it was taken at a closer distance :3

    1. I love how well made some of the Azone stuff is.

Well Hubby showed me the pipe that I can use (it's an actual piece from a copper pipe) so I think it will look good. I'm just waiting for him to cut it to size for me. The furniture, I am going to the hardware store tomorrow to look at a few supplies, wood, braces, that sort of thing. I also need to buy myself a little saw to cut the wood.

Thanks for the tip! I will try those suggestions. I always have a hard time with group photos. They never seem to come out for me which is always so frustrating.

I love the background you are making, the pipe idea is genius! and it already has the whole industrial feel, I think it will turn out awesome!

    1. It's such a nice material too, that cardigan, so soft.

I hope so! I have a lot of ideas but getting them to fruition will be the big challenge I think.

  3. Seriously cute selections! I love both of those dresses! Azone stuff is such high quality... I love it. It's hard not to snap up all of it (well, until you realize, "I just preordered $400 worth of stuff... 0_0") XD

    1. I'm glad that I am really fussy when it comes to clothing for my dolls so I can resist the temptation most of the time to buy more than I need. I usually think to myself, "Okay, that is cute but [doll name] wouldn't really wear that all the time if ever ..."

  4. Love both the outfits Alasse the girls look lovely. Also like what you are doing with the dio, but just another suggestion, if you do this again ~ try cuting the around bricks down the two joining sides so they will lock into each other like a jigsaw puzzle, that way you don't get the straight line down the middle. (I would do it before pasting on the board.)
    Hugs,

    1. Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think of that. I will try that next time as I tend to favour the brick style walls quite a bit. It will also save having to think of a way to disguise that line!

  5. Your Azone girls' new outfits look so lovely on them. I almost got the one that Aimi is wearing—it was so hard to resist. :)

That's a great idea to put in a pipe to hide the seam. Can't wait to see the result. :)

    1. Oh Aimi's dress is so lovely. I am going to try it on Minoko too and see what she looks like in it. It might actually be a bit too fancy for Aimi. She doesn't like to stand out in a crowd so much.

I am still waiting for the hubby to cut it for me. Once he does that, then I have to clean it with steel wool because it's very rusted over. That will be fun.
