Slow and Steady

I finally had a chance to cut my foam board to size today. This will be what I am using for the Pureneemo / FR / MH diorama. The scale also suits the Tiny dolls so I may even use it for them. The one for the bjds will be made out of wood, I think it's plywood, whatever that thinner wood is called. I'm hoping to start laying down the wooden flooring for that one this weekend.

I grabbed a bunch of neat looking scrapbook paper last week which I will be using as the flooring and the walls of the diorama. I'm having an enormously difficult time trying to find flooring to scale for these dolls. I have no idea where people are buying those "stick on" floors from. But for now, these will have to do.

Mia models for me on the white base of the foam board, all cut to size and waiting for gluing.

I think she approves of the choices.

Several hours later ...

I haven't glued the wall to the floor yet but this is how it's looking now. I had initially planned on a square room but expanded it to be a rectangle shape instead. This meant the two square pieces I had cut had to be glued to each other to make the wall. I had to let the glue dry for several hours.

I did run into an issue in trying to seamlessly put the brick wall together. I may have to add a pillar or something to hide the slight difference.

It isn't too bad for the MH/FR dolls although the wall is a little short. I would have liked extra height to accommodate them. I may have to make a separate one for these dolls and figure out how to extend the wall using scrapbook paper.

It is the right height for the Pureneemos even standing up so that's good. Mia also managed to steal Aimi's clothing until her own arrive. The diorama is not perfect but I think it works for quick snaps. No idea where I will store this though once it's done. I'm still debating whether I want to add additional walls to the side...

All tuckered out from her day of modelling.

    1. Thank you. Mia does seem to love her soon-to-be home. I think she will need to approve all furniture and bits and bobs though.

    1. It's the easy way out for me and comes together fairly quickly. It's just a bit fiddly. And thanks! I am having a lot of fun putting it together. Even with all the issues that have cropped up.

  5. The brick wall and wood floor look great together! I love your Mia too. She's my favorite Mia (with her brown hair and brown eyes). She looks so gentle and sweet.

    1. Thank you! When I build my houses in the Sims, this is the kind of combination I tend to go for, very industrial and rustic.

I love the eye screening on Mia. It's so expressive and sweet. I never thought I'd go for a sweet looking doll but she really captures my heart.
