Two Little Adventurers

I have a few posts lined up over the next few weeks (another unexpected, random purchase and the mystery Pureneemo has shipped). But this post is about my two little adventurers.

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that Rune is actually my game character from Fantasy Life (for the Nintendo 3DS). In the game she is primarily a combat class Mage (but I also have her learning the Paladin class at the moment).

In my game, she has light blue hair. So I decided to try Isabelle's wig on her just to see what it would look like. And I love it on her. She finally looks like the Rune from my game. The fringe needs a trim but other than that, I think the colour is perfect for her. Lucky, I had ordered a pink wig which Isabelle can wear when the order comes in from Luts. I still need to make her a dress befitting a mage at some stage.

She's claimed Scrappy for herself. The poor thing has seen better days but what can you do?

And the first of many comparisons (I'll post others in another post at a later stage). Rune with the vinyl Monster High Ghoulia. (Rune is a YOSD sized doll.)

Now Rune is the only one of her size here. Sure, she hangs out with the Tinies from time to time but I thought, you know what? She really needs a friend. (And I also created an archer class character in Fantasy Life recently called Meridian.) Some of you who have been a longtime reader of the blog may recognise the name as once belonging to one of the Shushu girls.

I've been thinking of getting Rune a friend for a while now but I just hadn't really decided on who. I had considered Bluefairy Shiny Fairy May but I've been reading on the discussion threads that the company is changing the body for that size. I actually like the current body's aesthetics. Whether the original body will still be available is anyone's guess. I also have no idea what is going on with their website as the dolls are marked "Available soon". If anyone can enlighten me on this, that would be fantastic.

The other contender (and a strong one at that) is Luts HDF Choco. Luts has the added advantage of being able to get this doll in real skin brown rather than just the normal skin (as with Bluefairy). I've also gone ahead and added a wig style and eyes (both from Luts) that would suit the character of Meridian. It also doesn't hurt that I actually love Luts default face ups on their dolls quite a bit so I wouldn't feel the need to change it.

You know me and those chibi makers. I used this pretty well known one by gen8. I redid the Chibi of Rune as I recently changed her hairstyle in the game to a long one instead of her original short hairstyle. I also did one of Meridian. I'll also be tweaking Rune's profile slightly. Xanadu's question on a few posts back about completing the elements I am using for the Tinies gave me an idea to group both the YOSD and Tiny size to cover these. (Thanks Xanadu!)

So that's it for a lazy Sunday night. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend or what's left of it for those of us in Australia.

  1. Ohh, Fantasy life seems like an interesting game~ worth checking out x3 (I mostly play Pokemon on my 3DS)

I like your character's designs in the game and also Luts Choco would make an adorable addition to your family x3 Luts tan skin is rather soft and lovely-looking~!

    1. Fantasy Life has a lot that you can do in the game even after beating the game. It also has an expansion that you purchase and download to your 3DS.

I've looked at Choco off and on for a while now. I just hadn't decided on a size but I do have to admit, the smaller sizes tend to draw me these days. Ah, how our tastes change over the years!

  2. Fantasy themed dolls are so great!! And your girl is looking super cute (loooove those teeth~)

Coco is one of my favorite Luts sculpts from their tinies, but I also love May from BF. Tough decision!

    1. I am so used to looking at her that I often forget she does has teeth! It's the fantasy outfits that are always hard to come by for these dolls.

I love a lot of Luts dolls. If only I won the lotto, I'd probably buy quite a few of their dolls.

Let me know how you find the Chibi maker!

    2. oh it was fun!! I made a chibi for Ailene with her new look, I'm still waiting for her wig and eyes to come so it was fun to play with stuff I don't have at the moment :)

    3. You might also enjoy this one. I've been playing around with that one a bit. It's animal based but they sure are cute. If you decide to post the ones you made with the chibimakers, I'd love to see them.

  3. Hi Alasse!
I love your Rune, but you'd probably have guessed I would because she has teeth. :) May I ask what make she is? Your choice for Meridian is lovely, I quite like Luts tinies (have three), but I'm not fond of the black dots on the mouth and usually remove them whenever possible.

The Chibis are cute, are you going to dress your Rune and Meridian the same at some stage?
    Hugs,
    X

    1. Rune is a Bimong Chuu (from www.art-bimong.com). She has one of two default face ups. I do keep forgetting she has teeth as I am so used to looking at her.

Those black dots tend to be a thing with a lot of companies. I honestly don't notice them myself but I do know a few people who aren't a fan of them. I guess also in close up shots, they'd be more noticeable.

I'd love to dress Rune and Meridian in their fantasy outfits but I have to figure out how to make them first as that sort of clothing is really hard to come by premade.
