All Hallows Eve

Here, tomorrow is the 31st October. As I will be working all day, I decided to post this shoot a little bit early in honour of All Hallows Eve. I decided on my Yukionna. I feel she is the perfect embodiment for this day. I like to think that she isn't simply a spirit that preys on the living but that she met an untimely and tragic end in the snow and this is why her presence is felt and seen strongest during winter.

Would you fall under her spell?

The Yukionna wishes everyone a Happy Halloween. Be wary of being out in the snow on this day for you might just meet her ...

    1. Glad to hear you are finally getting some free days. Definitely make the most of them! I can't complain too much though as working means money towards the doll fund!

Enjoy your Halloween day whatever you end up doing. I had a lot of fun doing these and Yukionna is just so perfect for the theme.

  2. Lovely photos, the story of yukionna is so chilling, I wonder if any one wrote any interesting variations on it, making it more tragic.
The veil really adds some mystery to your photos which are already gorgeous!!

    1. There seems to be a lot of different versions around depending on the medium. She seems to be quite popular particularly in anime and manga.

My version would be that she was happily in love with a man she believed to be her one true love. She fell pregnant with his child but he wasn't all he seemed to be. He was already married and her pregnancy would cause a big issue and bring shame to his family so he killed her out there in the snow during a snow storm. Her body was buried beneath the snow but her spirit could never find rest because of how she died. This is why she is sometimes seen carrying a baby in her arms. It's also why she is protective of mothers and children. At least, that's my version of Yukionna. I see her more as a tragic character rather than a purposefully malevolent character.

  3. Nice photos and beautiful doll! I'm rather not into BJD's but I like her face.

    1. She certainly has a softer face than a few others I have here.

    1. Thank you. It was an uneventful day. We actually didn't get anyone knocking on our door for candy. I spoke to some other people from work and they had people knock on their doors but not in our area. Halloween I don't believe is as big in Australia as it is in other parts of the world.
