I wanted to take a photo for #proBJDArtists 2016 but sadly, I wasn't able to. I've been sick with a viral infection for the past 9 days but wanted to at least try and participate as I usually post one of these every year. I know I'm a few days late but I saw this photo in my collection (taken back in 2014) and thought it would be perfect for what I wanted.
I wanted to show my support for the wonderful artists who create these beautiful dolls that we are lucky enough to be able to have. If it were not for their hard work and willingness to share their creation with the world, we would not have the opportunity to bring them home.
Show your support and buy legit. It's not hard to own a doll if you're willing to put in the mileage, put away a little each day and one day you will own your doll. It might take longer but the saving and finally receiving that desired doll is well worth it. Take it from someone who thought she would never be able to own, let alone afford even one of these dolls. (And I'm not exactly a high income earner either).
I might complain about the wait times sometimes but at the end of the day, these dolls really are worth the wait. I'll leave you with my final thoughts:
"Any creative venture is a long process, from concept to final product. It takes hours, days, months, years to tweak and perfect something until it is good enough to produce. And to share that with the world, it's brave but also it's love; love of the work, love of creation, love enough to share. That's something to be respected."
How very true and what a wonderful and well put together thought you shared with us, thank you very much!!
ReplyDeleteI think the photo is very fitting and I love it so much! It kind of gives me a vintage vibe, love it~
I also never thought I would one one of these dolls and look at us now, how wonderful is to put your mind into something and make it happen. It might take years, but it's not impossible.
Hope you are feeling better, hugs!
I am feeling a lot better thanks. Still dealing with a lingering cough that won't go away but at least I can actually do things now.
DeleteI still marvel to this day that I own bjds and I still sometimes can't believe it. Saving can be a bit frustrating for me as it takes forever but it is a nice feeling to work towards something.
Sorry to hear that you are still feeling unwell! I hope that you feel better soon! <3
ReplyDeleteAnd well said. There is so much work in making a mold from scratch and we should really respect the artists for all the effort and love they put in their work. Just for us as collectors and they, I think, enjoy every step of it.
When I started in this hobby I was a student and a part time worker. I had a family to take care of and the money did not grow on trees. But I could get three dolls after saving and so. Can we make it, then others can too!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I'm getting there, slowly!
DeleteSaving definitely makes things a little more special because of the commitment to getting that doll eventually. At least it is for me. Even if saving for a doll tends to take forever. I'm saving for a few dolls at the moment and it feels like it's dragging on but I'll get there in the end.
