The New Year is just around the corner and like last year, I thought it'd be neat to see what happened this year. I didn't really make any goals for this year mostly because I have a bad habit of ignoring them!
Crafty things I did;
+ I made some workable diorama sets for the 1/6 scale dolls that I'm really happy about.
+ I bought a make up air-brush set and actually started to paint 1/6 scale faces.
+ I made some things; diorama props and a yo-sd dress.

There were other doll arrivals as well (some Pureneemo dolls and one Pullip) that I didn't add to the list and of course a few figures.
Overall, not too bad. The biggest thing for 2016 was finally getting a big vinyl doll (my Obitsu Mafuuyu). I've wanted one for a while so it's nice to finally check that off the list. And of course, I finally jumped into the Momokodoll waters after procrastinating for so long. I don't really foresee this collection being too big in the future.
I project that in 2017 my acquiring will drastically slow down to a trickle. I'm currently saving for the big SD girl who will be my last bjd acquisition so any and all available funds are being pumped into that. I have no plans on acquiring further dolls from any of the other lines (not counting ones that are on pre-order of which there is only one Pureneemo and the Phoenix doll).
I would like to concentrate on customisation in 2017 and improve my skills in that area and of course, build more dioramas and make more props and sew more clothes. That's the plan anyway.

Wishlist Update:
So I was browsing Impldoll's website and looking at the Star girls and saw Crystal. I emailed Impldoll (who were super fast in getting back to me) about the face up. I adore Crystal's face up except for the blood and vampire teeth. I wanted to know if you could opt out of the fangs and blood if you chose the face up for the doll and the answer was yes (which is great news). So now, I have to think about whether I like Lydia more or Crystal more! All I know is that I will be bringing one of these girls home. I'm not far from my goal so I could be ordering one of these girls a lot sooner than expected.
Who to choose ...
You've been way productive in 2016! I think you'll perfect all your new skills in 2017 for sure! You also got so many cute Christmas gifts! Hope you can order your new girl sooner!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have been more productive to be honest. I've let the ball drop a bit with some of my custom dolls. The weather has just been so dreadful lately - too hot to spray outside!

I've been hearing good things too about their customer service and they're always really prompt in answering all my questions. They even sent me a blank photo of one of the sculpts when I asked for one.

Those two Impdoll's girls are beautiful and I am glad that you got such a positive respons. Crystal is a light beauty and Lydia such a soft tanned and mysterious girl. Hope that you can decide and order soon!

Both girls are so lovely but I can only get one. Still a little torn between both of them and no closer to a decision yet. I won't be ordering till after my birthday in a few weeks anyway so I still have time to procrastinate.

Both SD girls are lovely btw, but I'm more inclined to Lydia, just because her lips are so gorgeous!! But both girls are very pretty in their own style. Hope you can bring the one you want the most soon! That will be very interesting to see

I'm happy with the things I could get done this year. As always, I wish I could have finished more of my projects but it's been such a busy year for some reason. Shiva is still waiting patiently to be finished. I'm a bit nervous about doing her face to be honest!

Oh my gosh, I will be keeping an eye out now to see if they do the Princess Bride characters. I would be snapping those up. Love that movie. I have it on DVD. I should watch it again.
I still haven't been able to decide between them. You know, if they have a free event head sale, I could always get both heads to share the one body ... that's an idea right? I still have a bit to go to decide anyway. Ack. I was so set on Lydia but then Crystal threw a spanner in the works.
2017 is going to be a very interesting year I think.
Please don't think I have forgotten you Alasse, I have caught up on your posts (how do you fit them all in at this time of year?) and I'm pleased you had a productive year despite having to work. Love the new banner and your IH choices, but Crystal would have to be my favourite of the two, there is something haunting about her face that really grabs me.

I know Christmas time keeps you busy with your family so don't worry about it at all! To be honest, I have no idea how I fit all these posts in either at this time of year. It's a mystery to me too!
DeleteFingers crossed the IH outfits will still be available when my doll fund reaches its goal. I want to order everything at the same time so I'm saving for the doll and all the extras I'll need for her.
This is why Crystal lured me too. Both face sculpts can work for the Mirelle character so it's just a matter of which one I prefer.
