The Wheel of Change

First, I want to start off with some photos I took of Geraint, my DZ Cosmo who spends most of his time in the floating head box except for the rare occasions I drag him out for a spin on the Soom SG body. I rather like that Epidos and Cosmo share the same body and I'm working that into their backstory currently.

As the title of this post suggests, I'm gearing up to make a few changes. Yes, I know I like to change things up a lot but it keeps my muse juiced up and active.

I'm fascinated by the idea of reincarnation (as illustrated in Deirdre and Josef's relationship) so when it comes to Cedric and Geraint, I thought I might go down that path with a slight twist. Cedric has been experiencing dreams and feelings he can't explain. So when he travels to the Misty Mountains to seek help from a Mystic, he inadvertently fully awakens his 'Old Soul', Geraint. Now Geraint wants control of the current body and a battle begins between Cedric and Geraint for sole ownership.Their story explores the idea that there is always a little bit of darkness in even the most gentle souls. And for Cedric, Geraint is his darkness manifest. After all, his old soul was an assassin and a very good one at that.

Speaking of change, there is yet another little one that will be coming in 2017.

I've made a few changes to my wishlist. I've decided instead of getting the two dolls I was originally saving towards, I opted to sacrifice those two for ... an SD girl. After a bit of rearranging, I was delighted to discover that I had the room to fit an SD if I wanted one however I would have to sacrifice the MSD and YO-SD to get it. I hadn't planned on getting an SD as my last bjd but it would be poetic in a way as I started this hobby with an SD with the intention of only collecting SDs and along the way, I fell for a few of the smaller sizes. To end the collection with an SD, well, I will have come full circle and I rather like that idea.

I'd be lying if I said that was my only motivator. I've always wanted to buy some of those gorgeous elaborate fantasy-esque outfits from Iplehouse but it wouldn't fit any of my current girls and I've always been a bit hesitant on the Iplehouse body posing because of my experience with my last Iplehouse doll and the company don't sell heads separately for me to hybrid so ... I decided to do a bit of window shopping ...

...and found a gorgeous doll (hubby likes her too and he never really pays too much attention to my dolls!). She's Star Doll Lydia from Impldoll. She comes on the new Version 2 Star body which is essentially a smaller version (65cm) of the Idol body (70cm). I read she now comes with a mobility thigh joint. I will have to confirm this with Impldoll but aesthetically, the body is beautiful.

So my 2017 wishlist has changed a bit.
