The Poppy Parker Winter Wowzers 16" doll arrived Wednesday. I picked her up before work that morning and didn't get a chance to do a proper box opening so I'm just posting the "after" photos.
I really love her very retro flavour. I feel like she could be a pin-up girl.
She came nude and I am having a hard time finding some decent clothes online for her that I like so she's wearing something I had on hand. I think it's minifee size but is actually a bit big for her. I have it pinned in the back to help it stay on a bit better. I did find two dresses, at a good price that are on order and should arrive next week.
I really miss the accessories that usually come with these dolls when you purchase them brand new. Guess I will have to make her some myself.
And a comparison with the other 16" girl, Mallory.
I think they look good together. Their physical appearances are polar opposites which I love. Mallory somehow looks softer next to Poppy and younger.
Comparison with the 12" Poppy Parker girls I currently have. I think they did a fantastic job of upscaling her.
One of Circe just because I adore her.
And a little Momoko doll spam. My brother's partner says this doll reminds her of Hermione from Harry Potter! She is wearing Blythe clothes from Coolcat.
What else do you do on a rainy, cloudy day but stay in bed?
The gorgeous fabric was a gift from Irene. It's wonderful and can't wait to turn it into a blanket.
Speaking of gifts from Irene, a big box of goodies arrived today (thank you so much!). Lots of stuff, stickers, postcards, cool cat socks which I can't wait to wear, gorgeous fabric, a neat notebook and two red retro style chairs for my 1/6 dolls. My dolls feel so spoiled. Spy the vintage style fashion drawings in the background? I am totally going to turn those into some wall hangings for my diorama. Irene knows me well!
I'm slowly getting back into my crafts now that my cat is feeling a bit more like herself. I do have a heap of other RL stuff going on but it's nice to have a blog to come to where I can step away from reality for a bit and just take some time out.
Oh wow, that Poppy Parker is gorgeous! I love the blue eye shadow.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit worried that blue eye shadow might be a bit much for me but I rather like it a lot more than I expected to.
DeleteThe clothes are almost the same color as her eyeshadow, she looks stunning!! And they upscale it just wonderfully, She is very very pretty!!! Funny she doesn't look as gigantic as I thought next to other Poppys.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that first photo of her, so so pretty.
And how nice is to see more of your momokos, the momoko feels are strong !!! I just love your girls and seeing her all nice and cozy in the diorama makes my heart warm :)
And of course Circe looks stunning as always.
Sitting down, she looks okay with the other Poppy Parkers but standing up, she is quite a lot bigger in size. I do love this 16" size although I don't foresee myself getting a lot of them. Mostly because clothes options are really not that abundant for the 16" line as they are for the 12" line.
DeleteI continually forget how delicate Momoko dolls are and how cute they look in photos. They are such a great size particularly for these cardboard dioramas I make for them.
I thought you might like Circe. I wanted to include one of her just for you. I washed her pony tail out yesterday and I like how it hangs now. They put so much styling gunk in these dolls. I always hate how hard and cardboard like they can feel.
Congratulations on the new girl! I just love poppy lips, they're so gorgeously shaped.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that fabric be of use to you already! Hope the other stuff is useful too! It's indeed relaxing to just play with dolls, it totally makes you forget about your real life troubles, doesn't it?
Thank you and they are aren't they? They also have a slight gap in the middle, almost like she's thinking about saying something.
DeleteLove that fabric. I have turned it into a little bed cover for my Momoko dolls. Now I just need to figure out how to make a Kimono for them with the gorgeous Japanese style pattern fabric you got for me.
Oh trust me, everything will be put to great use. Thanks so much again. I am having so much fun with the stickers! I kind of have to hold myself back from sticking them on practically everything I own!
Congrats! I agree with you, that they did a great job upscaling her! She is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you cat is feeling better!
She has a very striking face which I adore about her whether she's 12" or 16"!
DeleteIt's a relief. My cat has never been through a trauma like that before so I'm glad she came out of it and got better. She's slowly getting back to herself but I just can't stop hugging her!
Hi Alasse!
ReplyDeleteYour new Poppy Parker is gorgeous, all three have such wonderful pouty lips. :) I'm pleased to read puss is feeling better. Things have been getting in the way of my doll time here, but gradually getting back to normal, though I won't be on line much.
Hugs,
X
Hope everything is okay with you! I've been getting less time as well due to other things going on right now. It's frustrating for me as doll time is my chill out time.
DeleteI'm always thankful she has got better as when we first took her to hospital, the vet had pretty much not expected her to survive. She's a little fighter that one.
