There's a bar, a pokey little thing squashed between a boutique and a barber called LuLu's. There's nothing special about it at all. They serve beer and old style mead for those looking to quench their thirst and for the faint hearted, the owner stocks milk.
What draws people isn't the mead, although it's a mighty fine one, but Happy Hour which means the stage is open and anyone can strum a note or two or three. On most nights, that's where you'll find Mila, the local celebrity playing her chosen instrument of the night and belting out her feet taping tunes.
...and an extra for the road ...
That's turned out to be a a very versatile set Alasse. Where on earth did you find the star light? It works really well for a club/bar or stage setting and I love the name you chose for the bar, Lulu's has a sort of smokey jazz lounge feel to it. Great photo shoot!

This particular set works for a lot of things which is great. And it stores away neatly too so that's an added bonus.
DeleteI believe I bought the star for hubby's work Christmas party last year. I think from memory it was Bunnings actually. It is great for added lighting as well as a good prop.
Glad the smokey jazz atmosphere came across. That was the picture I had in my head when I was doing this shoot!
This was a lovely little story, photos and the star lamp is a nice detail. I saw a lamp like that, in a shape of an anchor at the museum in a town nearby our cottage.
ReplyDeleteOh I have seen the anchor lights too. I love those sort of things. They're just a little bit quirky which I love. I got this guitar in one of my little prop packs recently so of course, had to use it!
DeleteHow lovely it was to read that and the photos complement it so well!!! I wonder, is that floor handmade by you or is it paper? either way it looks pretty cool, I love the entire set up
ReplyDeleteThe floor is scrapbook paper. Pretty neat huh? It looks so realistic. I picked this lot up a few weeks ago before one of the local craft stores shut down. Which means my source for flooring has now become very limited.
DeleteThis was a really fun shoot to do. And a quick one too!
Great and very vivid description! I'd like to see more of it as it seems a perfect setup for a story. That blingbling guita is fab!
ReplyDeleteI want a bling bling guitar like that now! I've started to weave and cross the Momoko and Barbie storylines a bit. It's nice that certain characters exist, even if distantly, in each of the worlds.
