Disney MTM Anna and Merida

I've had these two girls for a while but between work, sick cats and my own health troubles, I haven't been able to get to my hobbies at all lately. So I was happy to steal an hour to take some quick snaps to introduce them on the blog today.

I purchased Hasbro Anna and Disney Store Merida with the intention of giving them Made to Move bodies. Their default bodies weren't really to my liking.

First up is Anna from Frozen.

I really loved how MyFroggyStuff turned Anna into Dizzy from Descendants and was inspired to  make a version of Anna with that cute little hairstyle which I adore. I had been eyeballing the Hasbro Anna doll for a while (red hair and freckles - how could I resist) and knew I would put her on a Made to Move body that I had as a spare (one of the hands is broken but I managed to glue it back although posing is limited now in that hand). However, although I loved her default eye colour, I wanted something green and I wanted the pupil to be smaller and the light spot to be bigger. I ended up repainting the whole iris. The bun hairstyle took a few tries to get right and I just left it a bit messy because my version of Anna (yes, I am keeping her default name) is a bit slapdash at times with things. Plus she only puts her hair up because she wants it out of the way and not for any stylish reasons. I was tempted to keep the plaits because she looked cute with them but I think the bun does make her look a bit older.

Who doesn't love that little smirk she has going on there?

Next up is Disney Store Merida.

The MTM body really gives her so much more options. I opted to keep her in her default dress for now. Most of her curls are really nice and haphazard although the back of her hair is not very curled. I haven't got around to fixing this issue yet. I'm still debating on what she will be wearing.

The bow and arrow is from my Hunger Games Katniss. She came with one of the bear cubs but he doesn't really stand on his own so I'm using him mostly as decoration on my desk at the moment.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

  1. Both great purchases Alasse! But then you know how passionate I am about redheads. I would love to see these dolls IRL, and wish like crazy you lived around the corner!!

Your Anna looks like a grown up version of my Animator Anna, and she's definitely lost some weight! LOL!! The Animator dolls all have such cute round tummies, bit like me when I have eaten too much. :)

I can't wait to see what you do with Merida.
    Big hugs,
    X

    1. That makes two of us Xanadu! It'd be neat to get together and have our own little doll meet!

It was a lot of fun working on Anna. Merida's hair is so wild. It just goes everywhere and in every direction it feels like. It kinda suits her character though!

  2. Lovely dolls you found! And I agree, Merida has some wild hair! Hope that you can do something about that. MTM bodies are great like this and I liked the tips that MyFroggyStuff had - with the head, buns, glasses. :)

    1. I love how wild Merida's hair is but the back definitely needs fixing as it hasn't been curled properly if at all so looks kind of lifeless and flat.

The buns are really cute on the one MyFroggyStuff did.
