A Brave New World

I've finally finished the character profiles for the BJD collection. This can be accessed via the Doll Database Page. Just click on the link provided to get to the profiles. I haven't got all the photos up. The ones that are missing are of dolls that either haven't arrived yet or are waiting on new wigs. 

I ended up meshing together a world of science and fantasy for my characters as I wanted both in my world but also wanted to add a modern twist to it as well. I guess it's part urban fantasy too. 

One of the biggest changes I made was to the doll I had turned into my Yuki Onna. I love her as that but I also decided I really wanted a 'Blind Seer' (Sorcha) in my world, a young woman who went through a rather traumatic awakening of her powers, so much so that it rendered her completely blind and changed the colour of her hair. In this first photo, this is how she appears when a Seeker comes to see her. Most of her features are hidden behind a veil.

This is how she looks without the veil on. Here, I wanted her eyes to be a clear 'blind' colour, her eyes being leeched of all colour due to her blindness. So I got some pale grey eyes for her. I initially got this wig for one of the Yo-Sd girls however I tried it on her on a whim and really liked the effect. It was also a perfect fit for her tiny head. So the Blind Seer was born. Jamal and Illyana are the only ones to see her without a veil on.

Another change I made was to the Deirdre character. Most of her personality is still intact I just added two new things, she was adopted as a baby into the Quinn family and she now has the ability to sense the intention of others. She's a bit like a human lie detector. In this photo, she is speaking with a wisp. Because she is a 'Mystic' the name I've given to people with abilities, she can also see magical and spiritual beings.

My CP Chiwoo has undergone a drastic name change. She's no longer Eve but Odette Pennington. She's also had a complete personality overhaul. She suffers from a strange unexplained illness of the body and is confined to the Pennington Estate with only her brother for company.

Her brother is Linus Pennington who is currently looking after the family affairs since the disappearance of their father. Their mother isn't in the picture. She died after giving birth to Odette when Linus was Five. He initially doesn't have the temperment to be as cut throat as it's required when dealing with the Thirteen Families that rule Persephone but he learns fast.

Illyana remains largely the same, still a healer and a charm maker. She's also going to be developing her spiritual side too. She's one of the very few friends Sorcha actually has.

Josef is an agent of ARK. He works closely with the Mystics to track down criminals and put them where they belong. He has a prejudice against the Mystics due to a misfortune that befell his twin brother.

My Yo-SD girls are Goddesses in the form of young girls. One rules over life, one rules over death and the third rules over fate.

My two little Faeries who grant the wishes of the True-Hearted. They exist because of the dreams of the Mortals. It is their dreams that brought them to life. If mortals stop dreaming, stop believing, these Faeries will vanish into oblivion just like the Goddesses should people stop believing, they too will vanish.

My Cosmo who shares the Soom body currently has no wig. I'm still trying to decide which one I want for him. His character, Geraint is that of a brilliant inventor and scientist at the ARK funded GEO lab. He's also Vanya's creator.

Remember this head I got last year from my good friend? I finally got her a body second-hand. I'm hoping it arrives by the end of next week. This means I can start thinking about her face up. She will be Helena, a scientist/geneticist who works closely with Geraint in the GEO lab. She's also got a very interesting secret that revolves around Sorcha.
