A Garden Walk

Took a couple of quick snaps of the two new girls I mentioned in my last post. I wanted to see how they looked in natural light although it was pretty cloudy and rainy today.

The Lady Amaryll. I found a bracelet that I thought might work as a head dress for her. It looks quite nice. I will still have to make a proper one at some point but for now, this one gives the right atmosphere I am looking for. Her wig is actually white. In my last post, it looked a bit pale blonde but that was because of the artificial lights I had taken the photos under.

Eolande in a temporary wig. This one is still a smidge big but doesn't really fall off her head. I ordered another wig for her today so hopefully it will fit. If not, one of my other dolls can wear it.

I glued in their eyelashes today. I discovered how much I really dislike putting on eyelashes. It was very fiddly and frustrating. I had a few attempts at it. There were curse words aplenty. But they're on finally and drying at the moment.

I also discovered that I could take Eolande's head off. I just had to wiggle it around a bit more. This is good as I won't bother changing the O-ring until I restring her next.

That's it for today.

  1. Both your girls look great! That was a good idea to give Amaryll a head dress. Those blue beads match her eyes. :) And Eolande is a sweet redhead! She can be an Autumn elf. I know how tricky gluing eyelashes is so I decided my new boy will have to do without them. And since Akira lost eyelashes in one eye, I took off the remaining ones. And I think he doesn't look bad without them.

    1. Eyelashes are the bane of my existence right now. They always move as they dry. I rather like Eolande as a redhead too. I can't remember the wig I bought her but I think it was a red-brown. Amaryll is so beautiful. I can't get over her!

  2. Wonderful photos! I do like the red wig on Eolande!
The eye lashes can be a tricky thing, especially on smaller dolls. I put a pair of new lashes on Noomi today, it was almost as a workout! :D Put the lashes are on! Yay! The feeling is mutual to winning on lottery!
    Happy weekend!

    1. Red does seem to suit her doesn't it? Eyelashes are one of those necessary evils in bjd land. I am going to try and glue them on a MH doll just to see how they look!

  3. Love what you have done with these dolls Alasse and I hope whatever wig you finally put on Eolande, that it's red, that colour really suits her. :)

I shall look forward now to seeing The Lady Amaryll's diademe when you finish it, though the bracelet doesn't look half bad.
    Big hugs,
    X

    1. Red seems to be a popular choice! I am not sure if the one I got her is pure red, maybe red-brown. I'll see how it looks on her. I am just waiting on some eyes designed for Porcelain dolls but I use them for bjds too as they give a really nice realistic look.

I had planned on buying one of those elven crowns but the price was a bit steep for me so I have to figure out how to make something myself!

    1. I really love her grey resin tone. I think it really enhances her face. I am very happy with both dolls. It's been a good doll year so far!
