I'm also tweaking her character because I wasn't sure that she was an entirely "hero" type of character. It turns out, she has a bit of the darkness inside her. So I've made her my Queen of the Shadow Court. She will be playing off against Belarus, my Prince of Air (who is just a tad arrogant and way too sure of himself) and Lucien, my Merchant of Lies, who likes to cause a bit of chaos and discord wherever he goes, unless you pay him a lot of gold in which case he might back off a bit.
All three butt heads with Yadirah who is the Child-Like Goddess and treats them as insolent children most of the time even though she's the only out of all of them to actually you know, look like a child.
And then there's Geraint who is most likely going to be the fifth member of this rather dysfunctional family. Well, when he morphs into Malek anyway.
The Star girl I am planning for now will be part of the human/mortal race. That's as far as I've got with that.Or she might end up as the fifth member of the family if Geraint ends up finding a way to beat Malek and prevent him from eating his soul and taking over his body.
But then again, I might throw in two MSDs into the family mix to bring the total to Seven because I love the number Seven. I have the perfect two in mind but it just needs a tweak.
This will be my 'Immortal' family and the ones that play freely with the lives of my mortals. Bless their poor little souls.

Oh, Amaryll looks gorgeous in this outfit. Black and golden make her look very mature and serious. Yes, a true queen! And Belarus is an interesting name. Actually I've never thought a name of a country may serve as a given name. :) Child-Like Goddess, hm... that reminds me of Aphrael from The Elenium trilogy. I'm so curious about the universe you've created.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Belarus is the name of a country. It's the name of a God of Justice in one of my fantasy stories. Except he was old with white hair and a long white beard!
DeleteWho writes the Elenium? I might have to add to my read list. I was thinking of how to describe Yadirah because she's the oldest of them all but looks the youngest and was thinking about the Child-Like Empress from The Neverending Story and thought it was a good way to describe Yadirah.
I already have scenes in my head of the immortals interacting with each other and I find this helps a lot in bringing out the characters.
Belarus is a neighbouring country of Poland. It was once a part of USSR.
DeleteElenium is a trilogy by David Eddings. Really good story, much better than his Belgariad. And of course I remember the Child-Like Empress. :)
I've read the Belgariad of David Eddings but don't believe I've read the Elenium. Hubby just has the Belgariad series by him and also Polgara the Sorceress. I'll have to hunt the Elenium down. Thanks!

DeleteThis family is very dysfunctional and hate each other but would protect each other too if it came right down to it. Except for Malek though. They are all united in hating Malek.
Work was busy as usual. It's crazy busy at the moment but it makes the day go by fast.
She is magnificent Alasse, I love the photos and the outfit as well as the changes you have made. This story is coming along really well. :)

It's nice to feel inspired again after such a dry spell. The characters are also quite alive in my mind which is good. It means I'm on the right track.

ReplyDeleteI plan to take photos of a scene between Josef and Deirdre. It's just a bit tricky as prop-wise I don't have an awful lot for the bjd sized dolls. Those things are harder to get than props for my fashion dolls (and a bit pricier too!). Although I do a bit of photo manipulation so maybe I can rig something up...

ReplyDeleteI really love this colour on her. It's just a tad big and I have no idea how to alter doll clothing myself. I'd love to keep this one on her but she just doesn't fill it out as it's designed for the new star body which I believe this head won't really fit on that well.
