The hand that the wrist ball joint is broken. He is still patiently waiting for the Universe Doll ball joint hands I ordered for him. I think I still have at least another month or two wait time for those.

Alden really does not like people, at all. I think it has a lot to do with what happened with his brother after the war and the lies a few individuals spread that took root. He doesn't believe there is any such thing as a good person. He believes anyone who claims to be has an ulterior motive and will always want something back for their "good deeds". This is why he keeps himself apart from others and never allows anyone to get too close to him. He knows very well how to wield words cruel enough to cut and edged with hardness. He has an unforgiving nature. Most Old Town folks try and stay out of his way. The only person who seems to be able to handle him and doesn't put up with his 'nonsense' is a childhood friend who grew up with him and his brother. It's also the only person Alden tolerates to be around him.
Then, he meets the new owner of The Mermaid's Rest, Deirdre Quinn. And everything changes. They have a somewhat rocky start but Deirdre isn't a woman to be easily scared...
In unexpected doll news, I ordered an Akagidoll body today. They had a sale going on at the moment and after spending the last three days researching the body and possible resin matches, I bit the bullet and put in my order tonight. The height says 66cm with a head and from the comparisons I have seen, it is only slightly shorter than the Popodoll 68cm body I have.
Technically, I got the body to try the Cosmo head on as I didn't want to go all the way up to 70cm for him and I had been looking for about the 65cm height. 66cm is close enough. The resin looks like they will be a good match. I'm not too worried as I plan to also buy the Argonatuica Doll Zet head to hybrid onto the body at some stage to be Alden's friend (the one person in the world he can tolerate to be around.)

Alden looks great in this wig. It matches his faceup and he seems more aristocratic now. :) It's sad he doesn't trust anybody, but time and patience can heal even deep wounds of the soul.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new body will make a good hybrid with Cosmo head. And Argonautica Zet is a very interesting sculpt. It reminds me of 5StarDoll Destiny a bit although Zet's face is slimmer.
Yes I believe Deirdre will be the person to help him come to terms with the past and move forward to a brighter future.
DeleteI hope it will too but if it doesn't, I can always get another head for it. I plan to use the body as a musical body of sorts as I still want to get the Universe Doll head too at some point. I must go and check out 5Star Destiny. You have me intrigued!
The wig is beautiful! The body you ordered is awesome, I love the proportions of it.
ReplyDeleteChildhood friends are usually the ones that know you the best and take you with your flaws and bad sides, and tell the honest truth :-).
I've been watching posing reviews of the body and what I've seen has made me very happy. I can't wait for it to arrive but I will have a 2-3 month wait ahead of me still.

Alden is a real Winter Prince - he looks awsome in the new wig. Zet looks like a very interesting head - there is something in this sculpt that reminds me of an ancient Greek statue, especially the profile.
ReplyDeleteHe does look like a winter prince doesn't he? All but one of my big boys all have long wigs now. I never noticed the resemblance to a Greek Statue but now that you mention it, I can definitely see it too.

DeleteI am so excited about the Akagidoll body. I love tall, lanky boys and most of mine seem to fit that description. I'm not so much into the big muscle bodies that seem all the craze at the moment. I considered for about five minutes and decided to stick to my lanky boys.
Alden could be a Targaryen Prince. :)

He could be although I don't watch Game of Thrones. I have heard of the show though but it's way too violent for me. Shame as the characters seem interesting enough.
