I finally got a photo of my growing collection of what I call 'Christmas Babies' although there is an official name for them. I just can't remember what they are! The kind Niina sent these to me, two she sent last Christmas and another two she sent to me this Christmas just passed, among other thoughtful goodies.
They always bring such big smiles to my face and I really wanted to showcase these little ones together. They are very addictive. Although I get constantly asked, "Why aren't they wearing pants?" to which I always reply, "You just don't get it."
I debated whether to do any goals in regards to the hobby for this year. Initially I wasn't but then I thought it'd be nice to have a list to look back on at the end of the year to see if I actually set out to do the things I wanted for a change or whether life just got in the way as usually happens. So here goes...
2019 Hobby Goals:
- Take more photos of my figures
- Make dioramas for the figures
- Make more dioramas for the dolls
- Really, quit procrastinating and learn to sew fantasy clothing (because I can't afford to buy them on my budget!)
- Save for a fantasy bjd (sculpt unknown - let's see what comes out this year)
Enjoy the weekend! Now back to Sims 4 ...
Babies are really cute! :D
ReplyDeletePallet furniture look great. I like this room a lot. Rainbow carpet is a great idea.
I wish you will achive your goals this year! Fingers crossed!
I am pretty sure that carpet/rug came with a set I already had but I love the colour. It's nice and colourful. The pallets were a lucky find which doesn't happen much in my neck of the woods!
DeleteThose are very cute babies and yes, they do have a name but for the life of me I cannot think of it either....oh they're not Sonny Angels are they? I know that they're small angels with no knickers on! And very cute like your angels too :)
ReplyDeleteI also like your renovated room, that is really very nice and those pallets are great as modern furniture!
x
Oh I think you are right. The name Sonny Angels rings a bell. I remember I was going to get more at one point but I can only get them from overseas and I think the shipping was really high or something so I never ended up getting more. I love pallet furniture. I might see what other things I can do with that.
DeleteI love your Barbie dollhouse! It's cozy and modern. I'm very into bauhaus and atomic age interior design. I'm thinking of my own Barbie diorama but it's not really a goal, because I never know if I have enough free time.
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out those styles as I haven't heard them before ...although atomic age sounds vaguely familiar so I might have come across that one during my cyberspace travels. I hope you will be able to make your Barbie diorama one day!
DeleteThose little babies are so cute!!! I've always admired them but I have no idea about the name haha.
ReplyDeleteThe renovated barbie room looks fantastic, a shot worth of a magazine
One of the commenters above said Sonny Angels. I had a quick look at their global store and yes that's what they are. I have to check them out. They are addictive though as you can't just have one! Thank you for the kind words on the Barbie room. I really didn't like the cartoony look so wanted to replace with something a little more inline with how I like to style my Sim houses.
DeleteOh aren't they just the sweetest little guys! They remind me of cupie dolls. I can see why they make you smile, how could you not looking at those faces. :)
ReplyDeleteLike the pallet idea Alasse, very innovative. Have fun with the Sims.
Big hugs,
X
I will have to google cupie dolls. These little angels are so tiny, they can fit anywhere. I like to move them around the house. Hehe. Can you believe i picked up those from Bunnings in their craft section? They have bigger ones too.
DeleteYour pantless angels look so sweet! Such a shame that Christmas holiday time is over. Your goals sounds great and I hope (and cheer!) that you will be able to realize all of them this year :). I decided to stick with nendoroids (I have four of them preordered... already ;)), and, of course, try to sew more... and play the games less... (*quietly goes back to playing Tokyo Xanadu ex+*)
ReplyDeleteDuring Christmas, I grumble about all the hassle but after Christmas, I feel a little sad that it's over for another year. Strange how that works. I can't wait to see the new Nendoroids when they come in. Have you got the new body yet? I'm curious about it but feel that it does take away a little from the overall chibi cuteness factor but on the other hand has more posing ability. I am debating getting one at some stage. Maybe. And I realised, I don't have many male Nendoroids! Actually, none at the moment. Hehe, games are totally addictive. I will have to google Tokyo Xanadu ex+.
DeleteThose sonny angels are so cute XD I could send you some as they are so huge here, but the boxes are random (as in you dont know which one youll get from 1 series~)
ReplyDeleteOmg I'm also playing sims 4 to death recently.
I did find some sellers in Australia who seem to sell the blind boxes. Thank you for thinking of me. I would have to wait though as I have spent too much over Christmas so I need to wait for a few weeks to see how much of my pay I want to shift over to my hobby slush fund.
DeleteI've been mostly building a lot in the game. Truth is, I've been making lots of places I would love to turn into a diorama, if only...
Haha, they really do not have any pants but one has a cake around him! These ’Christmas Babies’ are so cute. They go under the name Sonny Angels or Kewpie, from the good old times. They look good together!
ReplyDeleteI like your goals! I made some cleaning around my ’workplace’ and made some tiny dioramas for some of my figurines, just to practice a bit before taking the plunge into a bigger one.
You will get there with the sewing. I give up and start again, give up and let it be. Have not been sewing for a while. Hubby brought home some fabrics he found, just to get me started. Have collected some patterns, so I should be good to go. Just need a kick, push…
Like the pallets. You can find a lot of great things for dolls at a hardware store - or as I have done, at a store for car, boat and other vehicle parts.
Have a great new week!
Ah that's right, Sonny Angels. They are so cute. I really like them. I like how I can put them anywhere around the house.
DeleteI bought a bunch of sewing patterns from Etsy recently so I hope I can start using them as a jumping point to start sewing more.
