A Grim New World

Character Update Post.

Before we get into the updated characters, I wanted to show a quick snap of my new QPosket Wonder Woman figure. She was a lovely gift from my husband for our 19th year wedding anniversary. (Which technically isn't until 3 June but I saw her in the display cabinet of our local Zing store today and really liked her!) I think she is my favourite version of the superhero so far.

On to the character updates...

We start off with the brand new protagonist of 'The New World', Eve Monroe, daughter of one of the powerful leaders of The Guardians (aka Trinity - The Guardians are lead and controlled by three members that make up Trinity.)

Eve had a fraternal twin, her brother, Adam. He died a few years ago. His death was suspicious enough that Eve was compelled to look further into it. In doing so, she uncovered a diabolical plan created and instigated by Trinity to eradicate all those with impure blood, in other words all races other than human. Armed with this dangerous knowledge and fearful for her life, Eve knew the only chance she had was to cross the Borderlands and seek refuge in the isolated city of Silona where she could hopefully find the help she needed to take down Trinity, The Guardians and the Scarlett Inquisitors.

Nikolas Grey is the proud and charming owner of Opium, a bustling cafe in Silona's East side. Though the cafe itself is a front despite its roaring success. Nikolas is a purveyor of black market items and goods. His clients know that he delivers, no questions asked. He is also in a secret business partnership with Gwydion who provided the backing for his little business and is often tasked with acquiring certain special items for the man. He is Gwydion's very own 'Finder'. He also happens to be half-fae.

Ezekiel lost his only living relative three years ago. Gwydion has been kind to him even going so far as providing him a home. In exchange, he runs odd jobs and errands for the man to the Borderlands. Few know of his ability to see spirits. His grandmother used to say he had a gift given to him by the Gods. She used to name him, Spirit Walker. He is careful to hide this ability from everyone he knows, except Gwydion. The man knows of his ability and has even made use of it.

Gwydion: Tell me your troubles. Maybe I can help. But there is a cost. Will you pay it?

Gwydion, one of the most powerful men in Silona and across the Borderlands. He controls much of this territory and has many who are loyal to him. Nephilim blood flows through his veins from his father's side. His natural charisma and influence is highly enhanced with this blood making it difficult to resist him. He doesn't mind helping people when they ask, he just requests a favour in return. He owns half of most of the businesses that operate in Silona and throughout the Borderlands.

Mareth is from the Capital. She is nearing the completion of her third year at the Academy of Magic. Her friend, Lena goes missing on a trip to Farnworth. She decides to find out Lena's fate and delay her graduation until her return. She is versed in all elemental magic.

Astrid, the fierce warrior with a small talent for air magic. She's a favoured of the Seeress of Embra and is tasked by her to find the Child born of the light and prepare her for the battle to come with the Lord of Shadows. She hails from the Northern Clans, a warrior race that train their children from a young age in the art of warfare.

That's it for the character updates I have so far. I'm still working on at least three/four more fantasy outfits for the fantasy characters before I'm done.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

  1. I love to read about your characters and your stories. All the dolls fit perfectly in their roles, but I must say, thet my favourite are Nikolas and Gwydion. Nothing can beat mysterious, gorgeous male BJD ;)...
And the tiny Wonder Woman is so cute!

    1. I agree, mysterious male characters are always a temptation ... to the dark side! I actually really enjoy writing Nikolas and Gwydion, particularly Gwydion who is not only handsome but incredibly smart. There's a reason he's the most powerful man at the moment in his territory.

    1. The Wonder Woman figure is one of the best renditions I've seen so far and sticks closely to the tv series costume which I like.

What can I say? My dolls inspire me which is good because I really need to get back into writing again.

    1. Sadly I have to work on my anniversary and so does my husband so we will barely see each other that day.

The dolls are inspiring to me. I just need to quit buying more as I have no room!

  4. This Wonder Woman is so cute! Wonderful gift. And congratulations to you! :)

I love that your stories fits the photos so perfectly. When I read the description of the character I can see that you wrote exactly about the person on the photo.

    1. I bought him the Star Wars Death Star game :-) I find it amusing that other couples give each other jewellery and flowers and we give each other figures and games.

I'm really glad that came across. It's so hard sometimes to make the dolls portray certain emotions/expressions given how static their faces are.
