Just wanted to take a short break from doll posts tonight to post a compilation of sims I have made in the game so far this year.
There are way more than this but a few of them I didn't tweak their faces as much so they more or less looked like their default. This batch of girls though I spent a lot of time tweaking their faces so they didn't resemble the default that much.
I tried doing some boys but I am not as good at making boys sadly. (If you noticed a similarity between my redhead and my pale blonde headed girl, that would be because I used the pale blonde as a base and played a little with a mixture of her genetics and one of the boys I created to make the redhead girl. So technically, she's the pale blonde girl's daughter!!)
These girls are all some form of creative types or music lovers and tend to either follow some sort of art or music aspirations and careers. There is also a few geeks among these who strive to be computer whizzes or pro gamers.
A single sim (which tends to be what I create the most - I rarely create families), can take me anywhere from 2-3 hours to create which includes face and body tweaks and selection of clothing of each category (there are 8).
A single build can take me 4-6 hours to create. By the time I do the initial floorplan, then I do the landscaping, then I do the interior room by room and then add extra clutter here and there to make the place look lived in.
This apartment I just renovated and it took easy of about 3 hours and that is mostly because I didn't have to build from scratch. I did alter the floorplan a little though. There is another three areas to this apartment I didn't take photos of sadly.
For those who follow my instagram, you will have seen my post that showed that on the 3rd August 2020 I had clocked in 1000 hours of gameplay. If you were to ask me why I like this game so much, why I've been playing it since February 2000 when the original Sims 1 released, my answer would be "It's quaint and charming and I am the Overlord of my Sim's world." But seriously, there's just something about this game that makes me smile and forget my worries and that is always a good thing. And I'm discovering new things all the time with this game like tonight, one of my Sim's good friends came to visit and baked pancakes for her as a gift. That was so thoughtful.
I don't know if other people get attached to their little digital creations but I do. These girls that I made, I absolutely love them and enjoy rotating through their lives. It's nice to know despite having bought dolls, I still play with my digital ones and they still matter to me. I am always sad when one of them dies of old age or some other misfortune happens to them (no kidding, I had one die in Sims 3 when a satellite fell out of the sky and landed on her killing her instantly.) I could just not save the game at this point but what is the fun in that. Life is a risk. Don't see why it should be any different for my digital girls. One thing they have that I don't though is the money cheat. Unless I feel a need, my Sims never work. They are trust fund millionaires and get to spend their days doing whatever they want. Why can't there be a money cheat in life?
Selfie capture of the current Sim I'm playing with one of her good friends - Mahalia. Not really based on the doll character of the same name. I just liked the name and used it for that Sim. She's another Sim I created but I didn't tweak her enough so she still looks a lot like her default face.
It's well and truly past midnight here so I best get off to catch some shut eye.
See you on the flipside!
I have never played Sims. I do not think I ever will, but I do like the part of
ReplyDeleterenovating and building up rooms and landscaping. The room looks great and your
your sims look interesting! Glad you shared!
I have a save specifically that I use just for building and renovating. I like to save them to the Sim gallery so if I ever have to restart my game completely which happens more than you think, I will never lose the Sims or builds I've created and can just redownload them and play them again.
DeleteOMG, this game changed so much since I played it. Well, it was Sims 2 and it was several years ago!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I rarely played. I used to create sims, build houses (that was my favorite part) and then start over. ;)
I can imagine why you like it so much. It's like my coloring books for example. Something that helps your mind to rest.
The graphics is much much better and I really like the gameplay - it's really evolved a lot since Sims 2. I've been building a lot lately - I play a little but not as much as building and renovating. I'm setting up a new neighbourhood so I want everything to be perfect. I'm going to attempt to create a Sim that looks a bit like Hyun Bin who I think is so handsome. I hope it works out!
DeleteInteresting! Your creations look really nice, both the girls and the flat. I can easily understand, why you can play with it almost endlessly :). I love RPGs where you can not only create your own character, but also design his/hers castle/hideout/headquarter. Like in Dragon Age Inquisition... almost 800 hours of gameplay ;)
ReplyDeleteI tried to play that but couldn't really get into it. I was playing on PC though so not sure if that had anything to with it and it was the first Dragon Age game I think. I've been playing Dragonquest IX RPG on the playstation. I'm almost up to the ultimate final boss. I do love the interior decorating in the Sims. My houses tend to be very colourful!
