Today, I figured since I still had the forest set up from yesterday's photoshoot, I might as well make use of it. This post features several different dolls going on their own little adventures.

A Part of Your World

I was finally able to get Little Mermaid Ariel as part of my collection. I've been procrastinating over what version I wanted of her so when I saw the newest Disney Store 2017 Classic Version in the wedding dress from an Australian seller, I snapped her up.

She arrived yesterday and she is gorgeous.

Disney Store Pocahontas

Last week, I saw a really good deal on the Disney Store Pocahontas doll on ebay from an Australian seller and decided to grab her. I had been eyeballing this particular one as I really liked her face screening. The doll arrived today (to my surprise as it's a public holiday here).

She has never been removed from her box so was in mint condition.

She is an older release and like most older dolls, they age so naturally there were some very minor flaws (slight discrepancy in the skintone of her body to her face and arms). These are minor issues though and nothing I'm really worried about.

Photo Sunday

I've been really enjoying all the free time I've been having lately to do doll things. I know it won't last so I'm savouring the opportunity whilst it's here. This of course means more activity on the blog.

Today I got a few things done. I removed a few face screenings on the vinyl dolls (I actually find removing face screenings quite therapeutic for some reason), I got started on a new room box for my Cu-poche, Nendoroids and Picconeemo dolls, I got started on wig caps for one of my Barbie girls and a Monster High girl in preparation for the hair wefts I ordered today ... and I took some photos. All in all, a rather productive day.

On to the photos ...

First up is a room box I finished using a tutorial from MyFroggyStuff. I love how it turned out. It's not very wide but is great for shots like these. Here's Layla enjoying a relaxing afternoon. She's been newly transplanted to a Made to Move body. She was originally on the curvy fashionista body but I wanted more articulation for her. She goes so well with this room box, I might turn it into her bedroom once I make my pallets for a bed.

A Disney Princess

I recently discovered the Classic Disney Princess play line dolls made by Hasbro. From what I've managed to find online, it seemed Mattel and Hasbro were both vying for this line but it was Hasbro who ended up getting it. I don't really know the full story there but the first indication was the lack of greasy hair which was in my opinion a great thing. For those who aren't aware, Mattel seem to have a habit of getting a little too happy with how much glue they stick inside their doll heads. This glue tends to leak out into the hair which makes for very tacky, greasy feeling hair. It's a shame really. There's a temporary fix using talcum powder which I will try on two of my worst affected MH girls.

Whilst browsing for the DC Comic doll Wonder Woman (which they didn't have) at Toys R Us, I came across this play line of dolls and two faces instantly jumped out at me. These were Pocahontas and Mulan.

Let me preface this by saying these dolls have very little in the way of posing. In fact, other than sitting and being able to rotate their heads and look up (not down though), there is not much else they can do. They can't stand on their own either. For the price range of these dolls, I really wasn't expecting much. It's not a total deal breaker for me because I find the faces quite different in a good way.

These dolls seem to be you either like them or you don't from what I've seen. Some people like the faces, some find them a little weird. It all comes down to personal taste.
