Of Rune and Kestrel

Received some packages today, one from the other side of the world which came in record time. Possibly the fastest I've received anything from the EU. Our postal service must be working overtime!

One of these was from an overseas friend containing some adorable goodies. I didn't get a chance to take photos of everything because Kestrel decided she wanted to show off her new dress and shoes (and she's chuffed they fit her so well!)

Thank you W.I.S.H.E.S!

Rune showing off her new necklace that she found in the parcel too. I think the other girls here will be hardpressed to take that from her.

She's wearing a temporary wig here as I am still waiting on her official wig to come in. It's a Luts lime coloured wig. This is my third wig from them and I have to say I'm so surprised at how thin this one is; thin enough that the cap shows through in places and there's not enough hair to cover it. My other two Luts wigs are great and have lots of hair on them. It's actually meant for Myst but if it doesn't look any good on her, I might have to see if I can get a similar colour somewhere else.

I had one more leftover photo from the shoot with Naoise the other day. Thought I'd post it here. I am really liking how he is turning out although still am unsure about that wig. I'd love to try cutting a fur wig but I don't want to stuff it up either. Joy.

I know gluing on a piercing is not a huge deal but when people say how modding their dolls makes them more connected to them, I kind of feel this way about Naoise after doing his piercings (even if the eyebrow one failed). I need to be more hands on with my dolls more often.

How about the rest of you? Do you enjoy being hands on with your dolls or do you prefer to leave the face up and modding work to others?

  1. Ooh, Miss Kestrel, that's a very lovely new outfit you have got there!
That pendant, really, really suits Rune. I love it. Shame about the wig. I've never had much to complain about for Luts, so hopefully that's just a 'mistake'. Her outfit is really beautiful, I love how you've dressed her.
And you're much braver than me... I'd be way too chicken to glue on piercings!
But I know what you mean, doing things for your dolls like that does somehow make you feel more connected to them.

    1. Another friend of mine had gotten a Luts wig where the hair was so thin and kept flaking off but I hadn't had that problem until now. Maybe it's just the light colours are more obvious?

I did end up scrapping a tiny bit of Naoise' face up off trying to glue piercings on his eyebrow. Still trying to find studs that don't have holes in them to use for that area.
