To my surprise, Vala arrived today (MH Dot Dead Gorgeous Operetta). She has been custom painted and body blushed by Tin Ink Studio.
This makes her my second Operetta MH doll and officially my third MH doll to arrive. I had hoped to purchase another custom painted MH doll (different mold) but unfortunately, the seller that was selling her never bothered to answer my query on that doll (it's been over a week now) so that idea was binned. I can't promise this will be my last Operetta. I have discovered out of all the MH dolls, she is my favourite, even surpassing Ghoulia who was my previous favourite. I think it's because of that whole rockabilly look she has going on. Incidentally, I finally got my green eyed, red haired girl that I've been wanting since I started collecting bjds. Shame my current redhead bjd prefers blue eyes.
I'm hoping the freaky fusion release will have an Operetta. So far, I haven't been able to find out if this is the case. I think there could possibly be a Ghoulia/Draculara freaky fusion doll but we won't know for sure until they are released.
Just some extra photos ...
I really love her dress. It's pretty darn cute and I don't mind the material used for this one. Her hairstyle is super cool and I love her shoes.
Trying out a shot with the late afternoon lighting.
I love repainted MH gals so much, and this one is lovely! I have an Operetta that I'm going to try to repaint (Ok, I have a ton that I need to try to repaint, I just need to get around to it).
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to post a pic of all your Operetta gals together! XD
... and dolls are fickle that way, aren't they? You really want one thing so badly, and you don't think it's too much to ask (green eyes, red hair, those go together, right?) and then the doll you choose is like, "No, I prefer blue eyes" or "I think I'd like green eyes with black hair"... ahh, the insanity XD
I love them too. It's so hard for me not to snap up most of the custom MH dolls I see. Maybe if I won the lottery I would definitely do that but for now, I have to really resist as I've seen so many gorgeous custom MH dolls. And if it's a custom Operetta ... I really really have to sit on my hands so I don't accidentally hit "buy".
DeleteI would love to see your repainted Operetta. Hope you post her on your blog when you end up painting her.
I am planning on getting a shot of them together. I was looking at them last night and wondering why my Frights Operetta looks like she has a bigger head than my custom girl. I think maybe it's the make up with Frights being the default factory make up which tends to be ... wider. And the skin colour differs just slightly with Frights being a touch darker and Dot Dead being more pink? Maybe it was the lighting downstairs last night. I will have to check that under natural light.
I know what you mean. So many of my dolls won't wear the wig and eyes I want them too. I have a specific look planned out for them but when I put it on them, it just doesn't work for them. This is why I waste so much money on eyes and wigs for my dolls. Not so much clothes because they can always be re-purposed.
