Box Opening: Bimong Chuu

It feels like it has been a long time since I've done a box opening. The last bjd I did one for was my AQ Jesse (back in January 2014). Roughly a year since my last bjd purchase.

Without further ado, I present Bimong Chuu, who arrived literally half an hour before a storm rolled in. I had been anxiously waiting for her since 9am this morning as the parcel delivery guy usually delivers between 9.30-11.30am in my area. Today however, he didn't get here until after 1pm. I was getting a bit worried because of those black clouds overhead.

The very lovely box. I liked the touch with the ribbon tied around it like a little present.

Inside my little Chuu. The apple thingy is actually a keyring that is also a tape measure. Pretty handy if you're out and about and need to measure something quickly. They also sent some of those sponge cleaner things and some eye putty.

Finally unveiled. I love those hands. They are just so expressive. The resin is gorgeous, it has the same lovely tooth to it that my Limwha and MyDolling dolls have. It's matte resin which I love.

Nice little silver headcap plate. I think it looks quite elegant.

She has the face plate system which I have found I really like. Makes it so much easier to change out eyes if I want to. And this one is quite sturdy. My Limwha boy has a face plate system too but that one is a little loose.

A close up of the face up. It has lots of little faint freckles all over her face which is adorable. She didn't come with any eyes but I knew that already. So excuse the no eyes close up!

Here she is with eyes and a wig. Not sure if she'll be keeping either but for now, they suit her. My Nine9Style order hasn't arrived yet, could be another week or two (had it sent registered airmail). So I found an old halter top I made when I had my JID Asa and just pinned the back. It's not perfect but will do until her 'real' clothes arrive.

I tried on the sweater I made for her and some glaring flaws popped up straight away. I will have to remake it and adjust a few things. The untied shoelaces, well that's just Rune. She is forgetful like that. Too many other things on her mind I suppose.

I'm not sure if Bimong redesigned the body for the re-release of Chuu but she doesn't seem as chunky as she does in some owner photos I have seen of her. I was slightly concerned about that but she actually has quite a slender Yo body.

She is brilliant at posing. Her joints are only single jointed but she can still touch her face and is so easy to manipulate. She stands rock solid without any fiddling and she sits just as well. She is strung a little looser (maybe for shipping?) than I like my dolls strung but it in no way impedes her posing abilities. I am super impressed. I am also glad I dithered so long on choosing a Yo size doll because it allowed me to get her and let me tell you, she is worth the wait. I really love her. She is everything I imagined and more. Mr. Bimong is a very talented artist.

    1. I just wish her clothes order would arrive already! Doesn't help they didn't email me when they shipped it out so I have no idea when to expect it!

    1. It was a wig that actually came with my minifee Shushu so that came in handy. I also like that she shares wigs with the minifee size heads so makes it a lot easier to shop for wigs or try out ones I have here.

  3. Oh, she's absolutely wonderful! Congratulations on your new resin family member! n_n I absolutely love the look of the matte resin, I've never noticed that there's difference in resins like that...I guess I'm always focused on their faces and hands, haha. :D
(Also, can I say that I think it's beyond adorable with those too-long sleeves...)

    1. Glad the too long sleeves is getting good reviews!

I have dolls from a lot of different companies so it's interesting to compare the resin between them all. I should do a comparison one of these days. On my to do list.

    1. Thanks! I am really glad they had two options for the face up. The other one was a lot stronger and was quite pretty but I wanted something a bit more subtle. In person, it looks even better!

  5. Congratulations Alasse, she is a beautiful sculpt...and she has "TEEF"!! I love her, now you have tempted me, oh dear...I MUST be strong and resist the temptation. :) Love the over sized clothes, I think if Rune's going to have the type of personality which includes untied shoelaces, the over sized clothes should stay as they look kinda cute on her.
    Hugs,
    X

    1. *Enables Xanadu* Hehe. Her little teeth are very adorable. That slight hint of it just makes her so tempting!

I am still a bit unhappy with the neckline. I think I might have stuffed it up but I used a littlefee pattern so maybe it's meant to be shaped like that?

    1. Thanks! I know, she was shipped in about a week and a half. Which is the fastest shipping I've ever had with a doll. I wonder though if Bimong cast a certain number ready for shipping and the week and a half was the face up being done as I ordered her with one... I have noticed he did that with some of the Narae dolls when they were re-released (had about 10 cast and ready to ship).

Those hands will come into play a lot.
