Free Styling

Today, I got the camera lens I ordered in the mail, although I think they are more like filters because they screw on to the end of your default lens. One was a wide angle and one was a macro. I tested both out and the macro got in ten times closer than my current macro filters which was pretty awesome.

The wide angle ... not really seeing too much of a difference. It allows a little more I guess.

Guess which shoes belong to which dolls? The three characters are Jade, Maiya and Charlie.

But it's the Macro that fascinated me. I could even see reflections in her eyes. These are the true colour of Jade's eyes. They are Makoeyes. It's just a shame the further away you are, the darker they seem to photograph.

And a last one for VampireAngel13, one of Charlie. I am still not sure on the eyes though ... and his wig sits weird even though it's from Luts.

  1. Looks like the macro does a great job! And yeah, not true lenses, but heck, with a macro you can have fun regardless (heck, you can make a fake macro with a magnifying glass.... waaaaay more of a pain in the butt though XD) And omg, I love the little Union Jack shoes XD

    1. I will buy myself a proper Macro Lens one day but they are so pricey (the one I am looking at is between $600-800) so it'll be a while.

I love Macro. I need to try it out with more stuff.

  2. Hi Alasse,
Love that first shot, so cute seeing just legs and feet/shoes. Good to see you taking the bull by the horns with the photogrphy, I need to practice more. :(

    1. I seem to only be taking photos of my dolls though lately. I haven't done any food photography in a while. I should get back into doing that.

  3. He looks great! When I saw him on Flickr I didn't realize he was even a KDF. It makes me miss my Bory. I need to photograph Wyn...

Wow the Macro really has a lot of detail! I don't think mine is that great - or it's me lol. I actually like the wide lens a lot - again the detail is really good, sometimes that gets lost (or...that's just me too. lol). I love that shoe picture.

    1. Luts dolls always photograph so nicely. Although I wish I wasn't struggling so hard to find a good wig/eye combination for him.

I was so surprised with the Macro cause the filters I have don't get anywhere near that close. I will have to try the wide angle with some Landscape shots. I think that's where I will really notice the difference.

    2. Yeah! I'm terrible with landscapes, I don't even bother, and stick to closeups of everything. I'd like to see how they turn out!

I like that wig a lot, it looks really good with his faceup and clothes. Are those eyeco eyes?

    3. I think they might be eyeco eyes. I can't really remember. Oh wait, maybe Masterpiece eyes? That sounds kinda familiar.

    1. They are quite lovely, I'm just a little disappointed that they don't photograph like that unless you get really close.

  5. Oh, I'm really interested in that macro filter? :O I might be forgetful, but have you posted about it here? It really shows those beautiful eyes off in the best possible way! n_n

    1. I haven't posted about the Macro filter here before. I purchased mine off ebay off an Australian seller in my state. Bascially, just search for Macro Filter and your camera model and you should get a whole list of them. Just make sure you check feedback before purchase. Mine actually looks like a lens a little but just screws into the end of my camera lens.

    2. Ah, thanks! n_n I'll poke the husband about it, although he's not been that fond of the filter-idea. :D

    3. It's a more affordable option than buying an actual Macro Lens if you can't afford one straight away and it works pretty well in my opinion. Of course, I want to eventually buy a Macro Lens but it's a while away. They are so costly. But before that, I need to actually upgrade my camera to a better model as the one I have is really really old now.
