A new boy takes up residence

It's been hard to keep it under wraps here on the blog but I got a new boy thanks to my friend who I visited the other day. She kindly let me buy him off her and I still can't believe he belongs to me. I've admired him since he came to live with her. I remember saying to my husband the day after I had seen him when she first got him that I was in trouble if she ever decided to move him on. Of course, I never even considered I would ever get that chance.

But chance came a-knockin' and here he is.


He is tan minifee El made by CP in 2006 with one of the most perfect tan resin I've ever seen on a doll. It reminds me a little of milk chocolate, that lovely rich caramel colour. He also has the default face up which is so very very lovely.


His name is Jamal and for those who have followed my collection for a while, I used to have a RS Gang (dark tan) with the same name. This one is Jamal re-shelled with a few noticeable tweaks.

He will also be Isabelle's partner and will be the first boy she has ever truly loved.

I got some clothing with him all made by my friend I believe who is an incredible seamstress. I wish I had the half the patience and skill she does!


Just hanging out contemplating something very deep.


He also came with his dreaming head which I am stoked about. Finally I can photograph dolls sleeping.

I am still trialing hair/eye combinations for him but I wanted to somewhat recreate the original Jamal in appearance. I know the original had blue eyes at one point which I thought look quite good with tan resin.

      Thank you! I love tan dolls too but I tend to be a bit fussy on the type of tan which is why I don't have an awful lot of tan dolls. I sometimes miss the old Jamal to be honest.

      It's such a yummy tan, like chocolate. I have taken a few more photos but as per usual not all turned out sadly.
