It's been hard to keep it under wraps here on the blog but I got a new boy thanks to my friend who I visited the other day. She kindly let me buy him off her and I still can't believe he belongs to me. I've admired him since he came to live with her. I remember saying to my husband the day after I had seen him when she first got him that I was in trouble if she ever decided to move him on. Of course, I never even considered I would ever get that chance.
But chance came a-knockin' and here he is.
He is tan minifee El made by CP in 2006 with one of the most perfect tan resin I've ever seen on a doll. It reminds me a little of milk chocolate, that lovely rich caramel colour. He also has the default face up which is so very very lovely.

Resisting Temptation (Again)
It's getting harder and harder for me to resist Iplehouse and their amazing sculpts especially now that they are actually doing more mature looking MSD dolls. Take for instance, their newest limited JID girl, Violet. The minute I saw her promo photos in that gorgeous tan skin colour, I could definitely see her more as my gypsy girl than the Luts Litchi sculpt.
I'm having to keep reminding myself of the reason why I traded away my JID Asa but ... look at that face. It really is the face of my envisioned 'Gypsy'. Ack. Have I mentioned how much I hate limited dolls? They never give me enough time to procrastinate.
And I still haven't organised doll sales yet (mostly because I am having second thoughts about my decision to sell certain sculpts - the normal for me, always second guessing myself.)

Come into my web ...
I've been following the recent The Addiction series by Iplehouse and I have to say, I am really loving these dolls. Lucky for me, so far, they have been in the bigger SID/EID sizes which are way too big for me and are beyond my current doll budget anyway.
And then, Iplehouse post a teaser about their new addition to this series ... in the KID size. A size that I've been eyeballing and procrastinating over since January but so far, have managed to find excuses to sway me away from purchasing them.
When I saw the promo photos for Lisa The Addiction I have to admit, I am more tempted than I've ever been for one of these KID dolls. I also really love her in that grey resin tone coupled with those stunning red eyes and that fantasy head with the fangs. I currently have no fang dolls. I have dolls with teeth but no fangs.
I really need to stop looking at new releases from companies.

Jarlath Reborn
Back at the beginning of year, I received my dark grey RS Song. Since then, he's had a face up by Krowbar which I am now only getting around to photographing. I've had a few mishaps with choosing eyes for him but have finally settled on treading down the "typical dark elf" path of red eyes and white hair. What can I say? Sometimes the classics work best.
He shells the character of 'Jarlath', a man seeking redemption for his past deeds.

Patience is a Virtue
When I (belatedly) discovered Luts KDF Maska, I was quite frustrated that I did so unfortunately after he had come and gone and was listed as sold out on the Luts site. I hoped that Luts would consider releasing him as a basic doll but that never happened.
So when I saw them release their haunted series, I was blown away by the fact that Maska was among one of the Limited KDFs on offer. And to boot, sporting a gorgeous face up that appealed immensely to me. I love its otherworld feel.

Unexpected as he is, I now have him on order and I am quite happy. Not so much with the fact that the AUD is so terrible right now (why couldn't these guys have been released when we were sittin' pretty on the exchange rate??)
Ah, the trials of international purchasing.
I'm kind of excited that I will finally have a Luts doll. After AOD, Luts was the second doll company I ever encountered back in the day when owning a BJD was just a pipe dream.
I didn't order him as a fullset though as I am not all that fussed on his outfit or the ears and tail. My boy is going to have horns. I think I might name him Arion.

Mr. Mysterious 2.0?
I've been considering lately about changing out my DZ Cosmo head on the Soom Supergem body for a Souldoll Double Killian head instead.
Something about this sculpt brings to mind my vision of Jecht Landor. And I adore his default face up quite a bit. I love the softness of it. Not sure on the resin match but if the photo is true to the resin colour, I think it will be close. It was a toss between Killian and Soom Lazule (however getting a Lazule head is a lot more difficult than getting a Killian head). Both faces though do resemble the character of Jecht a lot more than Cosmo does.
