Thoughts on Blythe and Pullip Clothing

I finally got around to doing some photos for the Blythe and Pullip clothing that I have on a Pureneemo doll.

My models are Willow and Rosaline.  Willow is on the XS Flection body and Rosaline is on the M Flection body.

First up is the default outfit for my Pullip Sepia Alice.

Rosaline's M body doesn't really fit this clothing. It's pretty much big all around. I don't have an L Flection body to try it on which is a shame as I'd be curious to see if Pullip clothing does fit those bigger bodies.

Willow looks like she's being eaten alive by the dress so it definitely won't work for the XS size.

Next up is a dress made for Blythe from MissBlythe2012.

I actually forgot to take a photo of Willow in this dress but on Rosaline it's still big particularly around the waist and neckline. I think it also depends whether you like clothing a little loose on your dolls. It could work maybe with a sweater over the top but I like the clothing for these dolls to be more fitted.

Because of how loose it is on Rosaline, I think it will also swim on Willow even more.

Lastly is this white dress by Wimukt made for Blythe.

It is in my opinion quite big on Willow and wouldn't work for her however Rosaline could get away with it. Maybe add a sweater/cardigan to disguise how big it is around the waist. It does seem to fit her a lot better than the black dress.

Conclusion: It really depends on the seamstress (and trial and error) when shopping for custom Blythe clothing for Pureneemo dolls. I would say that the XS bodies are just too small for Blythe or Pullip clothing but M or L could pull it off. Although tight fitting clothing like tights and t-shirt may work and if you're handy with alteration, then you've got a bit of an advantage.

To be on the safe side, I think I will stick to clothing either made by Azone or made specifically for Azone Pureneemo dolls.

  1. Thank you for making this post and sharing the info! I don't have any Pullip or Blythe dolls and I have no personal experience of them, so hearing opinions and seeing comparison pictures from a person who owns them is great. I've seen some clothing for sale as "for Azone/Pullip" so I've been under the impression that they could share most clothing, but that seems not true. At least the shoes should fit both Pureneemos and Pullips?

I think I'll stick with Azone's own clothing too and stuff specifically made for Pureneemos, unless there are photos of the clothing on Pureneemos.

Poor Willow really looks like that one dress is eating her alive D:

    1. My Alice Sepia is currently wearing Azone shoes that came with one of my Character Series Pureneemo girls on the XS body and the shoes are a perfect fit. However, I have noticed that some Pullip shoes are made even too big for the Pullip feet so some shoes may be a bit big. This was the case with my Alice Sepia. Her shoes were even too big for her but from what I can tell, the Azone and Pullip bodies seem to share similar sized feet. Hmm, I might do a shoe comparison post too at some stage for these two doll lines. I'm curious myself if my other Alice and Mad Hatter shoes would fit my Pureneemo girls...

I sometimes wish Azone did more casual clothing though. They do a lot of pretty dresses and stuff but I'd love to see more tights, shirts, shorts, simple sweaters etc. Not all my girls like pretty dresses!

Willow kind of looks like she is asking for help in that photo. It made me laugh though because it just looks so ridiculous on her.

  2. This is very informative! Thanks for sharing! I have noticed the pureneemo L body is quite great with Blythe stuff! I have a Pullip on this body and she wears Blythe stuff very well!

Azone clothes are the best though :O worth the price xO

    1. Thanks for the info on the L body with Blythe clothing. I keep wondering if the Pureneemo L body has been discontinued. I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet. The places that used to have them are all out of stock so I don't even know if Azone is still producing them. I really want to put my Pullip Alice Sepia onto a PN L body. I've seen some custom Pullips on this body and I think it looks so cute.

Yeah I have to admit the Azone clothing is quite lovely and really well made. And scaled down really well. Attention to detail too.

  3. This was great! I don't own pureneemos nor blythes nor pullips but I think it might be helpful for me in the future. In any case I'm sure people will be grateful for the information, I sure am :D

    1. Ooooh does that mean one day, you might cave? On a more serious note though, if you do ever decide to get a Pullip, Pullipstyle is a great place to buy from plus they always seem to have their Pullips on sale especially the older ones so for pricing, they are pretty hard to beat. Shipping from the US though is pricey these days. Which is a shame. Actually, I think international shipping everywhere is getting really pricey now.

  4. Hi Alasse,
Although not particularly relevant for me, I still enjoy seeing photos of comparisons like this, so thanks for taking the time to photograph all the dolls with their changes of clothes and sharing them with us.
    Hugs,
    X

    1. You're welcome. I really should do more comparison posts. I keep meaning to but I never seem to get much time to sit down and do this a lot. I am still wondering where the year has gone.
