On Wednesday, I had a meet-up with my friend, littlegreythings. It was our last hurrah as she will be moving to another city quite a distance away in a few short weeks and it will be a long while before we will get a chance to see each other again. I will miss her a lot. It was fantastic that we could get together one last time but also a sad day as I knew it wouldn't happen again for a while.
It was also neat that she was here for my new Pullip box opening (which I will post about in another post later).
She bought over her sweet little Chiika girl (the smaller one in this photo). We finally got to get a photo of our two Chiika girls together. Mine kind of still has that just out of bed look here as I only received the Azone oil mist that day and haven't had a chance to fix her hair with it yet.
Everyone sitting in the photo area. The Pureneemo boy and the little Chiika girl belongs to my friend. The rest are mine.
My geeky girl. I really need to get to making her some clothes soon.
All the resins together. The two littlefees (Finn and Helen), the Delf Chiwoo boy (Liam) and the Minifee Chiwoo boy belong to my friend.
All our Chiwoos together. Her Minifee Chiwoo boy is wearing temporary eyes and wig. It was so great to see all three versions together. I can't remember again because I'm bad with this sort of thing but the two Delf Chiwoos, one is a Type 1 and one is a Type 2. My friend told me but I've blanked out again on that. I blame age.
Of course, I had to get one last one of Helen. I'll miss seeing all of her dolls but this little one has a special place in my heart. She is just so cute. I also did a fan art sketch of her. I think she looks a bit older in the sketch.
"Helen", Pen & Colour Pencils.
I've been experimenting with forcing myself to sketch only with pen lately and it's been a lot of fun. I can be too much of a perfectionist and give up easily if something doesn't turn out right so using pen is forcing me to get on with it even if mistakes happen. I like to think of it as my version of Nanowrimo but with art.
Ohhh so sad!! I'm sure the distance won't ruin anything, but I'm sad that you will be missing your friend!
ReplyDeleteI need to ask, which head sculpt is Helen? I have the hardest time telling LTFs appart but I'm in love now~!
Haven't seen Josef in ages!!or that seemed for me, He's so handsome hehe love the hat!
I really like seeing Chiwoos, reminds me of the beginning of it all, same when I see volks dolls with the old face up style X)
We plan to keep in touch with me prodding her to update her blog more! But it's sad I won't get to see her as often now.
DeleteHelen is a LTF Chloe. She's really tempting isn't she? My friend has a custom face up on her. I think the Chloe default make up is pretty dark from memory.
I know, I neglect Josef before because he had problems sitting but my friend kindly sueded and modded him for me so now he sits without aid. I am so chuffed about that. Would you believe that hat is for SD 13 I think and it's still big on him!!
Chiwoos are such gorgeous sculpts. I am finding they are among my favourites. I also love that there are different versions of them. There's also LTF versions my friend told me which is so neat. I plan to search on flickr later for owner photos!
That's kind of sad that your friend is moving away =( Hopefully you can still keep in touch ~
ReplyDeleteI love the little room set-up background and how all the totally different types of dollies hang out together! :D
We will definitely be keeping in touch. I just won't get to see her so often. I felt a bit teary when I said goodbye to her the other day!!
DeleteI feel like the MH girls are the Pureneemo babysitters, making sure they all behave for the photos.
My friend actually made the bookshelf, floor and table. I was lucky enough to get ownership of those and they're so useful in photos!
Hey Alasse, Keep your chin up, you can still keep in touch (just like us) and let's face it, with "littlegreythings" moving it gives you an excuse to visit Tassie, via Melbourne of course. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo shoot, it's nice seeing new dolls and I love Helen. She's really pretty, but I think it's the wig that's tugging at my heart strings most of all, it looks so natural.
Yes, definitely much older in the sketch, but still pretty.
Hugs,
X
Oh you can bet I will stay in touch with her. Plus you know how chatty I can get in emails! Oh I hadn't thought of a stop-over in Melbourne. That would be pretty cool actually. We'd definitely have to meet up if I'm over that way. I still haven't managed to visit Melbourne in all these years. Now I have a great excuse!
DeleteThank you, and I agree, that wig is just so lovely isn't it? I love it on Helen. I think it makes her even more adorable. But she can wear pretty much any wig and I'd still love her.
I can never seem to get a perfect presentation in my sketches, as in the sketches never look exactly like the subject they are meant to be. It's my achilles heel.
Sad to hear that littlegreythings is moving farther away and you won't be able to see each other that often, I'll be missing seeing photos of your dolls together! But good thing that the technology these days makes it easy to keep in touch with people, like how we doll bloggers all over the world can chat with each other :) Still, I hope you guys manage to arrange meeting each other every now and then~
ReplyDeleteYour Chiika girls look so adorable together! Is the smaller one on the XS body?
I'm going to miss talking to her in person and seeing our dolls together too but thank goodness for technology right? I'm sure we will manage to arrange to see each other at some stage.
DeleteI love that I've met so many wonderful people through their blogs. It's one of my favourite things to catch up on everyone's blogs and see what everyone has been up to. (not to mention how many of you have enabled me with your collections!)
My friend has her Chiika on the XS body. She really looks adorable on the smaller body I think. I quite like it. Makes her look younger too.
I'm sorry to hear your friend is moving! I love the pictures this visit produced. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun taking photos of our dolls together. We have such a big range of dolls combined!
DeleteIt's too bad that littlegreythings is moving away - the two of your have collections that go so well together (in addition to it being sad whenever friends move in general, of course). Because I move every couple of years I always find it challenging to make new doll friends, so I'm familiar with that feeling.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, I love the way you got the pinks and blues in that second photo to pop - great use of colour there! :)
I'm glad to hear our collections look good together! It's always a lot of fun setting our dolls up and taking photos of them just hanging out with each other. Going to miss that too.
DeleteIt must be tough if you move a lot. I've had a lot of friends move away from this town over the years and it's always sad when that happens.
Thank you. I hadn't noticed the pinks and blues until you mentioned it! So what a bonus!
You got such great photos! I'm delighted that we both got some nice ones from the last visit. And again, I really love the way you put together the diorama for the 1/6 crew. It really looks like a room.
ReplyDeleteIt was also quite fun to get to see the Chiikas and the Chiwoos together. Your Chiika looks like a sweet older sister trying to get mine to smile. ;) Have you had a chance to try the oil mist yet?
And, even though it's probably only CP geeks like me who'd even be curious... Liam is the Type 1.
I'm happy you shared that drawing you did of Helen. I love he way she looks in it, and I keep finding myself trying to decide which sculpt I could get that would look like that, just in case I ever grow her up. XD
I really am so glad we managed to get together one more time before the move. It was such an enjoyable day. I'm going to miss you, and our visits, a lot, since you've pretty much been there since I got into dolls. I hope that I'll be able to have you come visit down south sometime. :) But, in the meantime, it'll be fun to send boxes back and forth, and I'm going to endeavour to actually keep up my blog this year! And there's always Animal Crossing... ;)
It's my "cheater's" method of diorama without having to actually build any walls! It was handy that I got that floor from you as I use it a lot!
DeleteIt's amazing how different to me the Chiikas and the Chiwoos look even though my head knows they're the same sculpt but still ... they're just so different.
Would you believe I still haven't got around to trying out that oil mist from Azone? I keep meaning to but I've been so unmotivated lately with this dreadful heat. I'll definitely make a point of fixing her hair in the coming week along with the Pullip hair of both Nana-chan and Alice. I'll post a review up on it. I am curious to see if it's very greasy at all. Maybe I'll test it out first on my spare Pureneemo head just in case...
Ah thanks for that. Type 2 is Eve. Must try and drum that into my head. I'm getting even more batty the older I get!
You must let me know if you decide to grow Helen up. I'd love to see what sculpt you'd use for her. Plus you know, it's always neat having the same doll in different ages. I'd love to see what a younger Eve would look like.
Well, you know I'll be bugging you to update your blog! I got a bit teary that day after you left! It was sad to think that was going to be our last get together for a while.
I still have those photos from our very first meet together. I like to look back on those and the dolls we had that first time. Our collections have changed so much since then!
I will have to come visit. Haven't been down there in a long while so it'd be nice to get back there again. Last time, I spent a few days sick so missed out on doing a few things!
Ah yes, Animal Crossing. Now that I have two of your former villagers in my town, that should be rather interesting! (PS. I got the cafe!!)
