My dollhouse got some new faces this week. I still haven't got names for them yet.
This is a Fashionista girl. I can't remember which one she is but she is amazing. I re-dressed her straight away. I'm currently looking for a Made to Move body for her. Whilst I love the fashion that comes with a lot of the Fashionista dolls, I hate their static bodies so they all tend to get a body swap once they arrive here.
Her body is a really deep pink tone that don't match any of the Made to Move bodies I have here. The closest is the lightest colour body which I have her on. It's not very noticeable in photos but in person, it's a lot more obvious. She gets this body though until they make one in a tone that might match better otherwise, this body will do nicely for her.
This one I got at the Toys'R'Us closing down sale. She was pretty cheap at the sale price. I wouldn't have bought her at her original price though. She is Belle from Beauty and The Beast. Personally I think her face mold would better suit Ursula's human version from the Little Mermaid.
The body she is on in the photos is a static Fashionista tall body. Her default body had music whenever you pressed her belly, a snippet of the song from the movie would play. It got annoying after accidentally bumping the belly on the sixth time so a body swap was in order. (And there was no off switch short of removing the batteries). I did have her on a Made to Move body (again she is pinker than any MTM bodies I have) however, there was something off about her on that body so I swapped her onto the default body pink t-shirt girl above came on instead. I rather like it and I think she looks great in Merida's outfit. She can stand and look pretty on the shelf until I can get a different Belle sculpt.
And then I might turn her into Vanessa (human form Ursula) to be Ariel's antagonist.
These guys aren't new but I wanted to show some shennigans these dolls get up to in their downtime. I decided to see if Tate would actually carry Poppy piggyback style and stand on his own with her like that without any assistance.
Ta-Da! He can do that without an ounce of trouble. Way to go Tate.
Poppy being a bit of a flirt although I don't think Tate minds in the least.
This was an interesting angle to take a photo from. She kind of looks like she has her eyes closed as she goes in for 'The Kiss'.
That's all for today. Another week done and dusted. Can the year please slow down a little?
I think hardly any Barbie with celebrity facemold looks good enough. In my opinion the best are Fan Bingbing and Natalia Vodianova. You're right, Belle would be a nice Ursula. :) I hate static bodies as well. They can really spoil the impression when you want a doll with a nice facemold. I was so angry I threw away the body of my Mbili and now she's waiting for a new articulated body. Tate is so strong and charming! :) He seems really happy to have Poppy by his side. :)
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Film Collection dolls by Disney? They did a nice face sculpt of Emma Watson as Belle but ... it's strangely huge and bobble headed looking on the body she comes on and even when put onto a Made to Move body, I still find the head huge. Plus the vinyl colour seems different to the default body too.
DeleteI rarely do couple photos but it was fun to do one with these two.
The new residents are beautiful, and they will be perfect on articulated bodies. Belle does remind a bit of the actress, but can easily be somebody else, too. I like her fact though! I can imagine how annoying the music was every time she was touched accidentally :-D. Tate is awesome! It's a nice looking couple. The photos are great!
ReplyDeleteAnd it wasn't even the whole song either, just one verse from the entire song. But still annoying enough for me to want to change her completely. She has one of those unique face sculpts I think, different from others I've seen.
DeleteI just want more Integrity Toys Homme dolls. So far, they haven't released a single one this year. I may have to try to source old face sculpts but I was really hoping to pick one up on their new Homme bodies which I was hoping would be released this year.
Lovely new residents! Great finds and I agree with you, that the Belle-doll does not have the features of the real one. She really looks more like Ursula! But anyway, she is a beauty too.
ReplyDeleteLove the last photo!
I've been looking at the Vanessa pictures from Little Mermaid and I think I will turn her into Vanessa. She suits that character way better.
DeleteMy experiment in angles, that last photo.
Oooh, such nice additions to your collection! What can I say - I cannot stand dolls as static as Fashionistas. They have interesting molds, interesting styles, hair and all, but the bodies are horrible. I'm supporting body changing operations all the way ;).
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - Belle would be much better as Vanessa ;).
Pics of Poppy and Tate are really sweet!
The only thing is that it's getting insanely difficult to find the lighter coloured MTM bodies now without having to pay a lot for them. I should have picked up more when they did have them.
DeleteCouple photos I find are really hard to take. For me anyway.
Congratulations for getting new dolls. :) First Fashionistas is a real beauty but you are absolutely right she deserves a better body!
ReplyDeleteI nominated you to the Mystery Blogger Award. :) More on my blog. :)
That particular skin tone is proving difficult to get though!
DeleteThank you for the nomination.
