The Seventh Muse | Siren Song

I seem to be posting a lot recently. What can I say? I am feeling inspired.

A few weeks ago, I posted about my Popodoll Bomu's problematic style and appearance. There were a lot of great suggestions from everyone who commented. I had ordered two wigs from Alice's Collection, one for my Dollshe Saint and the other for Popodoll Bomu prior to that post. I had also mentioned about replacing his head if I couldn't find a suitable look for him.

My wig order arrived today and I must say, I'm actually liking the look.

It has a classic style that I love. I adore the curls in the wig and I really love the colour on him. I think he is finally coming together at last which means he won't be losing his body. Which I am fine with. It just means I can concentrate on still trying to find my Cosmo a suitable body. I am going through only wanting to bring home boy sculpts at the moment.

I'm not sure if his eyes are too dark? They are actually a lovely shade of grey but they photograph dark as I took these photos at night and under artificial light.

Let me introduce Matteo. His mortal name was Sebastian. He is known as The Seventh Muse, one of the Seven immortals of inspiration. He said to be born of Siren blood from his mother's side. He has a passion for music and can play a variety of instruments. When he sings, his voice captivates those who hear it, holding them in his spell. Out of all the immortals, he is the most gentle and the most curious about mortals. He grants inspiration by mere touch alone and favours musicians and song writers.

His mortal counterpart was a pianist who had been involved in a car accident that severely damaged his hands rendering them unable to play the piano. He had been at the bottom of a deep well of depression when he encountered the immortal soul, Matteo. He offered his life to the immortal who accepted the gift. Once fused, Matteo was able to heal the damaged hands.

He gets along the best with Jytia who also shares his curiosity of the mortals. Whilst Matteo and Emros are not enemies, they do tend to avoid each other due to their differences in how they see the world. Lucien likes to gleefully stir the pot when these two immortals are in the same room as often happens during the once a year Gathering.

Matteo also likes animals. And they seem to like him. He is often seen feeding strays and bringing them into his home.

  1. Wow! He's absolutely gorgeous! This wig is perfect on him. Now he's my favourite character. ^.^ Do you use board reflectors? They may help to make the eyes more visible and shiny. So one can say Matteo is a kind of minstrel. It would be nice to see him playing some intruments. ^^ Speaking of, I wish I could find a proper guitar for my boys. They're either too small or too expensive.
As for bodies for Cosmo, what about Angell Studio 65 cm muscle boy body or IOS 70 cm (which is less than 70 in fact)?

    1. I don't use board reflectors but I should. Are yours DIY ones? Once I get my new craft room in order, I want to set up a studio area for photography. I've been thinking of purchasing some additional photography gear to use as I do often take photos at night.

I found this awesome Lute that would be perfect for Matteo but it's really expensive and I just can't justify it. I might have to try and find other instruments or figure out if I can make them myself. But yes, he is very much like a Ministrel and a Patron God of Music and Musicians. I essentially just incorporated his original story into his new character. He's always been some sort of music lover since I got this doll.

I'll have a look at both of them. I need to check out the measurements and cost as I am on a bit of a reduced doll budget at the moment because of my house renovations. (Thanks for the suggestions though!) I've been researching a number of bodies but my biggest concern is resin match, proportion match and it seems almost every body, his head just doesn't sit properly on the neck and if it sits on the neck, it sits on top, gaps or looks a bit weird. Or he can look a bit pin headed on some of the bigger bodies. He's frustrating. I'm actually really tempted to just buy a bust from Granado to sit his pretty little head on and reshell his character into another doll completely down the track. It's probably the easier option.

    2. No, I bought my board reflectors in a photography store, they're pretty cheap and you have "5 in 1" or "3 in 1", different sizes - they're really useful. I just have to buy a stand because sometimes I'm forced to use my feet to hold a reflector while taking a photo, lol.
The best option would be to have a 3D printer. It would be great to print the instruments and other props. Unfortunately such printers are still expensive and imperfect. There are also some comapnies which have 3d printing services. However it might be more expensive than just ordering an instrument at a carpenter.
Yeah, the resin match can be surprising, like in my case - I didn't expect the Luts body to be so yellow. As for the neck, I ordered "neck donuts" which I think may be better than silicon discs. I use 3 at a time to make Hikaru's head sit properly but he can barely move his head up while there is no problem with moving it to the sides and down. 5StarDoll have affordable bodies but I don't know any dealers.

  2. This wig is beautiful and suits him wonderfully! His story is interesting, his kinder nature shows in his looks. I love the necklace by the way :-).

    1. The necklace is just one from Luts. I should make the jewellery myself but sometimes I get lazy and just buy them. I do love this wig on him. He's very classic now and I need an outfit to match but so far, not coming up with anything promising.

  3. He looks great. And dark eyes add him a bit of mystery. :)

    1. True, true. These eyes in particular do tend to photograph pretty dark too even though they aren't as dark as they appear in photos!

  4. He looks very gentle now. And definitely like an artist :)

    1. He does, I think it's the wig. It enhances his gentle sculpt.

  5. Stunning! I thought that the eyes, even if they are dark in these photos, look great on him!
I like the story, he sounds good hearted.

    1. He is probably the only truly good-hearted immortal in my story as he is really the only one who didn't force themselves into an occupied body.
