Today turned out to be a pretty good day. I got a lot done, doll wise and was able to take some snapshots of the doll house and some new sets I made.
Xanadu asked to see some photos of the doll house and since I recently changed up a few things, it was a good chance to post some photos.
This is the 'extension' to the primary doll house. Hubby bought me two. I added the walls on the top floor to divide the single space into three smaller spaces.
This is the primary doll house that I renovated. I really disliked the cartoony vibe of the original interiors so I added scrapbook paper to the interiors in a more modern/industrial vibe. The Barbie girls hang out in this house as well as the extension house. I do move the pets every now and then and the girls sometimes change rooms depending on my mood.
I just love how I set up Mirela and Cleo in this room playing with the puppies. I have several cats and dogs roaming both houses. I sometimes get hubby to play 'Where's Walley' with the pets.
This girls is waiting for her lips to be repainted. I don't have a name for her yet. She is Gabriella's twin sister though.
Shade had an issue with her lips too so I wiped the old paint and she is patiently waiting for me to redo her lips. It's on my list, honest! Poor thing has been waiting for a year now. I wanted to see how this would look in one of the stand alone dioramas.
This girl is Hasbro's Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I decided to put her in the extension house. I don't have a name for her yet but am open for suggestions. What name comes to mind when you look at her?
It was a pretty productive day for me. I finished two stand alone dioramas that I did on poster boards. I only took photos in one of them though (seen below). Sophia models one of the new dioramas. I plan to add curtains to the windows eventually.
I went with a more modern theme with this one and had a feature wall of white roses on a black background with the opposite wall being plain white.
Out of the two dioramas I finished today, I like this one the best because it has a nice blend of modern and country.
And that's it for another Sunday at the Doll House.
Such a productive days are the best :)! I simply adore your dollhouses and dioramas - they look fantastic and I know I would have lot of fun placing dolls and their pets in different rooms, in different poses. I thought of buying one and renovating it, buuut... I don't have place for it anymore, sadly. But I can still look at yours :)!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to Belle and her name, the first one I thought was Harriet, for some reason. She reminds me of someone with that name...
I love to renovate already existing houses, I wish I had more but space is not good to me! You can always try the small dioramas that you can store away easily. Particularly on the 1:12 scale for your figures!
DeleteThanks for the name suggestion. I will add that to my pool of names to pick from.
Every interior looks gorgeous! And the girls are certainly very happy to have such cosy and stylish rooms. Belle looks like Belinda to me, or Edwina. :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of wish I lived there! I hope to get more props and furniture for them in the future. Thanks for the name suggestions. I am really liking the names everyone is suggesting.
DeleteYour dioramas and dollhouse look just amazing! It is great to have a productive day. Have not come so far with mine, though, even if I have thought about it and collected material. Need some space and at the cottage there is more of that. Enjoyed this post!
ReplyDeleteBelle reminds me of a girl I went to school with. Her name was Joanna. :)
You will get there one day, I think creating takes time and there's no need to rush it! I am just lucky I had some free time for a change. Oh that is a nice name too. I have a few names now so I will have to see which one she likes best. Maybe let her pick them out of a hat!!
DeleteGlad it has that feeling. I like the doll rooms to be a little bit messy with a few things laying around and not completely neat. Makes it more realistic.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great day for sure! All the interiors are wonderful, I could have a home like this myself. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I would love to live in such a stylish place but alas, my house is very ordinary. It's nice to be able to have days like this.
DeleteWOW you have been busy, these photos are lovely and the room diorama is really great. I think productive days inspire us to have more productive days, I hope you find this too :)
ReplyDeleteBig hugs xx
Yes I find being productive makes you want to be even more productive but unfortunately, time is the killer of that. It would be nice if I was retired though, I could spend more days like this!
DeleteLove, love, love the doll house Alasse, it's perfect for all those dolls. The rooms always look much larger in your photos than they really are, which only goes to show how marvellous your photography has become.
ReplyDeleteI also love that last diorama, I had been tempted to use that black floral paper myself and thought the flowers may have been too big to use, but it's turned out incredibly well. You have such a great array of props, probably more than me now, and you have used them to create some fabulous scenes. Thumbs up!
It's so great to see you so inspired and creative, thanks for sharing the photos.
Big hugs,
X
I'm really glad the photos make the rooms look bigger. It gives that sense that they are living in their own little world.
DeleteAs soon as I saw that scrapbook paper, I knew I had to use it somehow. I've had it for ages now but haven't really found a good use for it until now. I wish I got two or three sheets instead of one though. A whole diorama with that wallpaper would be so striking.
Only for the 1/6 dolls though. I wish I could do something similar for my SD dolls but the sheer height of that thing would be a bit mind blowing!
