Over the weekend, I was lucky enough to find one of the dolls I had planned to get eventually up for sale from a seller in Australia. The doll is only a year old but is in really great condition. She is Resinsoul Wei - YoSD scale in the light tan/coffee resin. She arrived yesterday - so fast! Her first owner actually requested her with human ears instead of the fantasy ears she originally comes with but that's okay as I actually would have done the same! I also got her cat ears and tail as well.

She is going to be my little half human, half feline girl who can communicate with cats. I still have to put in her eyelashes and she needs a bit of work as her knees are super kicky but that's normal for Resinsoul. I call it a quirk of these dolls. It's an easy fix with thicker string and sueding.
I decided to try out two different styles with her. I do have to figure out how to make her wig a touch smaller as it's a bit big on her head. The white dress outfit is actually made for Blythe but fits her perfectly. The white dress with knitted brown top is made for the YoSD size but sadly does not fit her well as it's a bit big. Resinsoul dolls do tend to be on the skinner side so they are always an unusual body size and never fit into the the usual clothes made for their size. But that's okay. It means I will need to break out the sewing machine again!
I do love her in the white dress a lot. I adore her subtle face up (I believe it's the default one from Resinsoul). It's very soft and doesn't overpower her face like the one in the promo photos.
I really adore her. She's such a cute little size and her face is incredibly cute.
I had planned on not buying any BJDs this year but ... this one was way too good to pass up.

You're right, she's very cute. :) And that white dress looks nice on her. I think that style suits her - old lace, ragged tulle etc. And the ears make her even sweeter. :)
ReplyDeleteI do like this outfit on her. I want to also try sewing her a few things as well so she has a good wardrobe to pick from. She's very very tiny and very very slender but that's part of her charm!
DeleteShe is such a cutie and great that you found her in Australia. My girl from Resinsoul has some knees that are kicky too. But I let her kick, for now. :) I noticed that Narsha-sized clothes fit my Resinsoul just perfect, even the shoes. I just adore the ears and her face. The white dress suits her well! Congratulations on getting her home!
ReplyDeleteAh thanks for that tip on the Narsha sized clothes. I will have to keep an eye out for that. Resinsouls in general I've found tend to always be a bit kicky but it is an easy fix with sueding and thick strings through the legs if you can get them through the tiny holes!

ReplyDeleteThe seller lived in the same state as me but further south so it only took 3 days to arrive. She has the cutest face. I knew when she was first released I would get her one day but had not plans on when so it was a sign when she came up for sale. I've sent her previous owner photos of her restyled. She is so cute. I'm looking forward to working on her hopefully soon. This weekend is just too busy with family stuff.
DeleteOh she is cute Alasse! I love her big eyes, perfect for a feline girl, though I wonder if her eye colour could be more cat like. She also has a sadness about her which I find really appealing. Her limbs are are slender which also helps in creating her "kitty personality", I think she definitely suits the character you have in mind for her.

She came with cat eyes but I rather like the normal style eyes for her - sadly I'm limited in what I have on hand and in a size that looks good for her. All my smaller ones seem to be this darker colour. I have some in green but ... they're the bigger size. The big ones gap a lot - even these small ones gap a little because of the way the eyewell was sculpted. Maybe later if I feel like ordering eyes from overseas (not right now as the wait for those 3 pieces of clothing recently was bad enough!) I'm pretty happy with her.
