It's a Pullip's World

I meant to do a Pullip 2015 post but somehow forgot during all the chaos of the festive season so I decided to take an update photo of my Pullip collection today. I hope to take another one at the end of the year as this number may increase by one or two by then. All I'm saying for now is that I am waiting to hear back from a company regarding stock on a certain Pullip girl that may be coming to live here.

While I had the girls out, I thought it'd be a good time to re-dress them. I really need to get more custom clothes for them.

The current collection, from left to right: Cyrene, Clara, Myla and Alyssa.

We'll start with Clara as she was my first and the girl who started it all. I put her in the default Nana-Chan outfit and I love how spooky she looks, kind of ghostly.

Myla gets the casual treatment and I adore her in this outfit. I will most likely change her hair as those curls, as lovely as they are frizz like crazy.

Alyssa also gets the casual treatment and I love her in this but feel like she needs a cardigan or something. Her hair will also most likely be changed at some point which is a shame as I love the mixed colours in her wig but am not a fan of the curls that like Myla's wig, frizz like crazy.

Cyrene retains her goth steampunk look. I actually removed her mad hatter default outfit and then couldn't figure out how to get the top back on and the wired overskirt over her blue skirt broke when I removed it so she gets a mix of Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter attire. I gotta admit, she totally rocks the look.

She also happens to be hubby's favourite of all the girls. I just need to trim her fringe a bit more but her hair is quite lovely, a bit wavy but actually doesn't frizz at all. Which is great as I love this colour and style on her.

A modest collection of Pullips. I don't plan to have a huge collection of these dolls mostly because of space issues although there are a few older Pullips I would love to own one day (if the price was right). I have noticed Mandarake can sometimes get in older Pullips which is nice and I've been keeping my eye on their stock every week.

The older Pullips I would love to own are: Chicca (2005), Latte (2005), Ddalgi (2010) although I don't think that will happen which is okay.  This seems to be the way with most of my collections. I enter into it years later and discover I like a lot of the older dolls released which are either hard to find or incredibly pricey on the second-hand market when they do pop up. The curse of the collector I guess.

There is just something remarkable about Pullips that really appeal to me, I can't quite put my finger on what that is but it's there and their appeal (to me) is unlike any other collection I have.

  1. They're a beautiful group. I especially like the wig on Cyrene - the combination of the style and the colour creates such a unique look for her.

    1. She certainly has that "Mad Hatter" vibe going on with her colour scheme. I'd love to put her back in her default clothes though as she looks even better in those but the top is kinda weird so I'll have to try and figure it out!

    1. I love the face up on Myla a lot too. It's so subtle and gentle. If only her hair was a bit less frizz and a bit more tamed, I'd actually be very happy. But I guess you just can't have it both ways...

  3. Your Pullips look much better dressed in their casual clothes, than they do in the clothes that came with them Alasse. I am not fond of the quality of Pullip clothing, it's often badly made. (My Pullip's clothes were really tacky.)

I was thinking if you like the colour of your girls hair, you could try a bob haircut before replacing it completely, it might work.

    Hugs,

    1. The only clothing issue I had with my Pullips was the Sepia Alice outfit and the apron and corset style part from Steampunk Alice and hte overskirt wire thing on Mad Hatter. Everything else I've received has actually been pretty well made. Nana-chan's default outfit is gorgeous in person and my favourite Pullip default outfit to date. I'm sorry to hear your Pullip's clothing was so bad though!

I was thinking of trying that, a bob haircut on Alice Steampunk's hair at least but I'm still not sure. The curls on her wig I think can be fixed somewhat but Nana-chan's wig has so many curls to it ... I will try and fix both first. I came across a tutorial recently so I will see how that goes before I start purchasing wigs! Luckily, those heads share my CP Delf Chiwoo's sizing so if it doesn't work for them, Eve gets the extra wigs!

  4. Yay for Pullips~ Your collection is very pretty and I love how all of your girls have a sort of "vintage" style and they really match eachother!

I hope you can get some old ones ~ (I also have a Chicca and Latte) because they are the loveliest in my opinion as an older Pullip collector (LOL~ maybe I'm biased?)

    1. I think their custom clothing were by wimukt who does that sort of style so I'm glad to hear they match and have the same style going on! I actually put in another purchase today for one more outfit. I can't wait!

If I could get Chicca, I would be satisfied. I have only seen her come up once on Mandarake and she was very pricey and sold pretty fast. Remember that blog post you did with Chicca's accessories? After your post, I went hunting for owner photos of this Chicca Pullip doll and promptly fell in love! So thank you for the enable!

I've seen a few Audrey Hepburn inspired Pullips (Roman Holiday and Sabrina) recently that I am debating over but am not sure. I love Audrey Hepburn so of course Pullips of her are a temptation for me but I can't really do anything until I hear back about mystery Pullip.
